I'm a little bit of everything all rolled into one...
Hello!
My name is Laurie Burkett. I am a designer and artist with a background in computers, gemology, and metaphysics. I hold a Bachelors of Communication with a Certificate of Dispute Resolution (mediation, conflict coaching) from Boise State University. My artwork has been shown and published all over the world.
As a neurodivergent (ASD, ADHD, CPTSD) I navigate living in this world with somewhat limiting medical conditions (EDS, Fibromyalgia, damaged DNA). I find art is what keeps me feeling connected to the world while giving me an outlet for expression. I have a deep love of color and visual texture. My inspiration comes from a wide range of interests and inner most thoughts.
While I am adept at many forms of art: beadwork, paper crafts, batik, sewing, and many more; I find that what gives my quirky eclectic bohemian heart peace is digital artwork and design. It is through digital artwork I can play with color, inspiration and visual texture while allowing my body the rest it needs due to my medical conditions.
