I’m sorry it’s been a while since I shared an update. A lot of things have been going on lately, mostly not good. If you read my December newsletter, you’ll know that I’m in the process of moving house, which has caused a delay with Ruthless Wolves. Unfortunately, I still don’t have a moving date yet, but I’m hoping it won’t be much longer. On top of that, I'm dealing with a few personal issues at the moment that I can’t discuss. But please know that I’m still here. I haven’t gone anywhere, and I have no intention of disappearing at all. I’m still working hard to get Ruthless Wolves completed and ready to order/ship as soon as possible, but unfortunately, I don’t have a timeline to give at the moment. As soon as I know more, I will post an update in here to let you know.

Hello everyone! I apologize for the delay in getting back to you all. Long story short, a layoff on top of other things made late 2024 through most of 2025 a train wreck. I am back, though, and I just sent out a smoke screen survey to 7 backers. If that looks okay, I will send it to everyone. Merch should ship before books, and I now anticipate the books to ship early next year. Thank you for your extraordinary patience. If you’d prefer a refund, message me or email crownebooks [at] gmail.com. I will also set up a Google form if that’s easier. I expected to do this on the 15th, but it will be this weekend. Thank you for all of your support, regardless, and I can’t wait to get this spicy alt-history/weird western to you!
I'm so sorry for the radio silence lately. The last couple of months have been extremely busy, especially November. I have some good news, bad news, and sad news to share today. First, the good news. Other than a small bit of editing and formatting, Ruthless Wolves is finally finished 🥳 I know it's taken a lot longer than expected, but I really do believe it is worth the wait. I've loved getting to know Ajax and Elspeth while writing their story and I hope you will too.
Now, onto the bad news. Unfortunately, even though Ruthless Wolves is finished, I can't order any copies at present. I can't explain why just yet, but please know that I will be placing the order as soon as possible. I will hopefully be able to explain the delay next month (December). Don't worry, I'm okay and everything is good with my family. The delay isn't because of something bad, but because of something good.
Finally, the sad news I mentioned above. I had to say goodbye to my sweet husky, Sox, this month. She was a wonderful girl who reached a fantastic age, but sadly, she was struggling and in a lot of pain. Making the decision to say goodbye is never an easy one, but with her, it broke my heart. She has been my little writing buddy for many years and I will miss seeing her happy face every day 😢 If you see a husky named Sox pop up in one of my future books, you'll know I've been thinking of her while writing.
For those in the US (and anyone who celebrates), I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving on Thursday.

I'm so sorry for the radio silence over the last few months. Life, health, and everything in between showed up and slowed progress, but I'd like to assure you that I am still working on getting Ruthless Wolves to you as soon as possible.
I originally gave a 10 to 12 month timeline for this project, but we're looking at closer to 14 to 15 months now (including shipping time). I do still have a bit of work to do before the manuscript heads off for editing, but it is moving along at speed now and should be finished by the beginning of September. Editing should take roughly 4 weeks, formatting will only take a day or two, and then I will be placing an order for proof copies to make sure everything looks as it should before placing the full order.
Once I have the proof copies, I can set up the shipping costs with Backerkit. Please keep an eye out for more information about shipping charges and how to pay closer to fulfillment. Then, as soon as the books arrive with me, I can begin shipping them and the other rewards out to you. Ebooks and digital rewards will be sent out 2-4 days after the physical books/rewards, so that (hopefully) everyone can receive them at roughly the same time.

Just a reminder that I will be charging cards on Monday 31st March for anything you've added to your order. This charge does not include shipping fees. I will be speaking to Backerkit later next month (April) about shipping fees to find out what happens next. I signed up for their beta program to charge shipping later, but there isn't much information on it at the moment, just a note to message them when ready to begin. As soon as I have more information, I'll post an update to let you know.
Just a quick update to let you know what's happening and a rough timeline of events.
If you've added items to your rewards during the survey, I'll be charging cards at the end of March for those items, but it doesn't include shipping fees. I plan on ordering the books and any final rewards early to mid-April, but if there are any delays, I'll let you know as soon as possible. Once I have everything here, which will hopefully be by late May/early June, I'll be able to work out the shipping costs.
I signed up for Backerkit's beta trial for charging shipping later, so I'm not sure at the moment how you will be charged or when, but as soon as I have more information, I will share it with you in an update.

Cara North and I were originally going to send out our own half of the sets with our rewards, but we've decided to send them together instead. Since Cara plans on fulfilling her rewards before me, she's offered to kindly add the collab pins to her packages, so you don't have to wait to complete the set 😊

I'm so excited to be launching my first enamel pin campaign with Pintopia 3 this week! I've had so much fun coming up with different designs for the Smut Lovers Club collection. I thought I might have 2 or 3 designs, but I've ended up with 7 completed designs, 1 still in the works, possibly 4 mini designs (I think some of the toys would make cute mini pins 😊), and so many ideas for more. There's also a new cross-collab pin set 😍
I've still got lots to get done, so I best get back to work/writing.

Just a quick update today to remind you that I'll be locking the surveys at the end of December. So if you want to make any last-minute changes, now's the time to do it. You'll still be able to update your address details, I'll give plenty of warning before locking addresses, but you won't be able to change your rewards.
There are still a couple of outstanding surveys, so please double-check you've filled yours in because I can't lock those orders until they're done.
It's been slow going with Elspeth and Ajax's story over the last couple of weeks. Preparing for Christmas always takes up a big chunk of time in the lead-up to the holiday, but this year I had the added extras of putting together another campaign while also studying at college and working on the next book, so it's been an extremely busy month. But now the holidays are over and I'm almost done setting up the Smut Lovers Club Enamel Pin campaign, I'm hoping to speed things up with the story.
I'm so excited to launch my first enamel pin campaign in January for Pintopia 2025! I still have a lot to learn when it comes to digital art, but I've had so much fun coming up with different ideas and then designing the pin badges. I've partnered with KittenCriezPinz this time and we've created two pins that'll look awesome together! (Check out the picture below 😍)
