🎉 What We Made Together

Collaboration makes everything more fun.

🌼 The campaign

Hi there! My name is Lotta. I’m from The Netherlands, and I love horses! I am a freelance game artist who also sells her own creations at conventions and online.

For this campaign I would like to take you on a journey along the Mid-West of the USA, to visit all kinds of cute little Mustang Horsies!

We start off our journey in Colorado, and hopefully by the end we will have passed eight states in total, all with their own unique Mustang representatives.

For every Mustang pin sold I will donate €1,- (about $1.17) to The Cloud Foundation. I am not affiliated with them, but I want to support their work to preserve these lovely equines!
When multiple parties are interested in land usage, it's easy to push away the voiceless in favor of those with money and lobby's. I think it's important that wild animal advocates are represented at any table that discusses their future. The Cloud Foundation is an active organisation that aims to protect wild Mustangs throughout the USA.

🍀 Freebies!

I'm collaborating with Gods and Monsters of Chinese Folk Tales for a unique pin set featuring more horses!

Back both our projects and get this set of two pins for free. Natasja van Gestel's design is a tribute to one of her favorite stories A Ballad of Sword and Wine (QJJ), and my design is a little Chinese Qilin in the style of the Mini Mustang Madness campaign.

I've also joined the Pin Safari Banner

This means that if you back three or more of the participating projects, those people will add their safari polaroid sticker for free ^^ Check out the other projects to see the polaroids you can get by backing their campaigns as well!

Extra Stretch Goals

Due to reaching all the stretch goals already I've added some extra!

Extra Stretch Goal at € 3250

The first flower mustang is the Sidalcea oregana - Oregon Checkermallow! This pin will feature rose gold metal and glitter enamel filling.

If we reach this milestone I can also add a free foal mini pin ( 2 cm, 0.75'' ) to every pledge with 3 or more pins! It will also be available as an addon :)

Edit

🐴 Meet the Mustangs!

All the pins will be between 3 ~ 3,5 cm, in US terms that is 1.18" ~ 1.38"

----------------
ALL THESE DESIGNS ARE UNLOCKED <3
----------------

We start off the campaign in a famous mustang spotting place: Sand Wash Basin! The horses here are a favorite subject of wildlife photographers, as they sport vibrant and diverse coat colors, and are relatively easy to reach with a camera.

When the first stretch goal is met, Lost Creek Leopards are added to the roster!
Many people call these spotted horses ‘Appaloosa’, but this is actually a different breed from Mustangs. Of course it is very possible that some of these leopard mustangs are descendants of escaped Appaloosa’s.
These pins have screen printing to create a full-body leopard pattern.

A very famous cartoon horse has been inspired by the Kiger mustang’s iconic golden coat ;)
Although Donner, the real-life Kiger that inspired Spirit, is a dun horse, Spirit may have been intended to be a buckskin or dunskin horse. The Spanish have tried to breed golden horses for centuries, so it’s no surprise that these Iberian descendants are a particularly golden kind of dun!

Where the Kiger registry once accepted roan horses, to find true roans now you will have to look elsewhere. Rock Creek in Nevada for ecample, has an especially high number of roan mustangs. If we reach this stretch goal, these three roans are added to the roster, with an extra screen print layer to add some white markings as that is also very common in this area.

From the Pryor mountains in Montana comes a special herd of mustangs that are beloved by many around the world. Cloud and his legacy live on thanks to the effort of the foundation that is named after him. At first glance you might think this light cream colored horse is cremello, but he is actually a roan palomino!

There is no consensus on where these small mustangs from the Cerbat Mountains originate from, but that they are tough is certain. The Arizonan deserts and mountain lions made them into a herd of survivors. Cerbat mustangs can come in many colors, and greys are often seen between them.

For decennia, American quarter horses and thoroughbreds were released into the Idaho wilds. As you can imagine this made the equine inhabitants of areas such as the Black Mountains that much more colorful. The first pin of this stretch goal is an ode to a famous flaxen tovero Paint horse turned Mustang, from an animated movie also featuring our Kiger friend ;)

For the final stretch goal I have these Twin Peaks Pinto's planned! These Californian mustangs are often found in tobiano coats. Some of their ancestors may have been war horses from the early 1900's, but luckily they can now spend their days grazing and playing with their friends instead.

🎨 Custom horse

I have a special tier available for people who would like to see their own horse, or a horse of their choosing, made into an exclusive design for them.

If you choose this tier, you may request 1 custom colorway on any of the unlocked designs to make the perfect horse just for you!

I will do my best to recreate any horse you'd like, with up to 2 screen print details. For example, to add a pink muzzle and custom white markings.
I will need full body pictures from you for the best result :)

Some examples of how these can look:
- The bay has one screenprint layer for the black points, namely the nose, the ears and the legs. Another screenprint layer is used for white markings
- Alternatively, instead of black and white screenprint, the black horse shows how a pink muzzle on a stripe could look
- The pinto chestnut is an example of a stylized tobiano pattern, also with a pink muzzle

If you choose this tier, you will recieve 5 pins of your exclusive custom design

🌵 Timeline

This is a general timeline I keep in mind for the pin production and shipping!
I will update regularly and will let backers know immediately if any delay should occur. Unless major issues arise, expect to ship the pins in June ^^

Jan - Feb = Campaign

Feb = survey prep & pledge collection

Mar = fill out your suverys (or else)

Apr - May = production

Jun  = quality check+shipping!
Edit

📦 Shipping

Shipping will be charged after the campaign ends! I will send out surveys to ask which pins you want, and to let you enter your adresses. The shipping will have to be paid after the survey is filled in.

The final charge will depend on the weight of the package, but for now I expect these shipping prices:

- NL:   € 8 maximum
- EU:   € 15 maximum
- USA: $ 24 + a 15% tariff upcharge
- UK:   £ 13 maximum
- Everywhere else: € 20

I will re-evaluate these prices at the moment of shipping, and hope to keep them as low as possible, but for now I gave a realistic expextation to keep in mind for budgetting
