Robots are something full of mysterious (or not so mysterious) intrigue. If you know me, you know my love for robots goes a normal amount far and wide. Last year, I created the Postronic Visions pin set based on everyone’s favorite Foundation characters, and this year I’m back with more bots… But tiny!
As a pin collector, I’ve got a pin board full of all these big beautiful pins, but what do I do about all of the negative space between them? I rearrange my board to make them tighter, and do my best to fit the spaces, but what if I could just fill it with tiny, cute pins? These tiny little robots are meant to be small enough to fill the spaces between in your collection, but can work as standalone accents as well. Just lovely!
Each pin will be a hard enamel, single post mini pin with black enamel fill in polished silver. Our pins will start with 1 base robot, and then backers will get to decide which robots go in the 5 mini robot set. That’s right – you get to choose! Back one now to unlock the ability to vote for your favorites and collect all the bots you want! Every 3 days you can vote on a poll to build out the initial set... And, if we reach our stretch goal, a second set to choose from!
All designs are works-in-progress and may change slightly between now and the final product as we identify if details are too small to be produced. Major changes will be conveyed via updates.
Meet the Bots: Unlocked bots
These bots are part of the first set!
IO is our base robot. A tiny plucky little dude whose antennae doubles as a party hat. Always down to clown.
Cass really enjoys retro music. 80s, mostly.
Sweet beats? Punk can make those. As long as they're cyclical patterns.
Critter claims that it is from outerspace. Not sure if I believe it, though.
Mac speaks in only beeps and boops.
Then, choose from:
These bots are voted on in polls to be included in our second 5-pin set!
Jackie loves math most of all. Put an equation through and they'll solve it.
A pocket friend who enjoys playing when you're feeling blue.
Frank enjoys standing on the side of the highway and waving to all the cars.
Rose can help morally support you while you clean your room.
Eva would very much enjoy it if you would share some snacks with her.
Furn offputs so much heat he can also be used as a space heater.
Dug likes to dig, and that is not a surprise to anyone.
It's Pintopia, and you know what that means! I'm partnering with Seven of Pub Gob Trinkets, who's making a gorgeous set of stained glass tarot cards. If you back both of our projects at a physical pledge tier, you'll unlock a very special set of small tarot card pins... 4 pins in all! You'll get two gold and two silver hard enamel pins no larger than .75" in height. How cool is that?!
Seven graciously said they'd fulfill these with their campaign rewards (to make sure the pins are consistent at the same manu too) so keep an eye out for that. Make sure to back Pub Gob Trinkets' pins now! You won't be disappointed, I promise. :)
Unlike Kickstarter, funds raised on BackerKit do not include shipping fees. Shipping will be collected at the same time as addresses, and will be subject to the USPS rates at that time. I am expecting shipping will be about $6-$8 for domestic addresses, and about $13-$15 for international, and will do my best to keep shipping costs as low as possible.
I will ship to any country outside of the EU that's on PirateShip's simple export rate country list. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, I won't be able to ship these pins to anyone in the EU at this time. I am so sorry. :( You are welcome to order via proxy, however!
Aimee Cozza writes and illustrates dark science fiction, fantasy, and horror, usually with a bittersweet twist or ending, focusing on the inner workings and struggles of beautifully flawed characters. Aimee primarily focuses on subjects regarding the dark-beautiful, surreal, and unsettling, often mixing or blurring sci-fi and fantasy. She enjoys exploring themes such as duality, disconnection, doomed romance, and mental illness/trauma.
In 2024, her debut sci-fi novella, The Warm Machine, raised for an indie published run of books during a successful crowdfunding campaign. The Warm Machinewas met widely to a positive reception. Shorter stories, such as “Roomba Accidentally Saw Outside” and “Washed Ashore”, released as free stories on Itch, were also met to positive reception and resulted in full funding for an audiobook version of “Roomba Accidentally Saw Outside“.
Aimee grew up in New England and attended college at New England College (Formerly New Hampshire Institute of Art), graduating with a BFA in illustration. She has been a lifelong artist, writer, and lover of all things sci-fi.
The most amazing part about Pintopia is getting to “dip your toes” into multiple creators at once. The more you back, the more you get. Check out these amazing creators and consider backing their projects too!
