I'm back from GenCon and finally settled back in! We didn't win Best Supplement this year at the ENnies but TKG's Mothership: Warden's Operation Manual won gold in that category and I honestly can't think of a better winner. In fact, TKG won gold in ALL THREE categories they were nominated for, AMAZING! It was an honor to be celebrating so many creators and the vibe was overwhelmingly positive throughout the entire ceremony. Congrats to all the winners and fellow nominees!
Shipping Delays
About 25% of our poster maps came with ink blotches and smears. The damage was so bad we had to request a reprint - new prints are on their way.
Back Facing Damage
Front Facing Damage
Mixam paused our OMENDROME print order without reaching out to me directly so I didn't see this until just before leaving for GENCON. They were claiming that printing without a lamination option may cause smears and damage to the cover and if I didn't choose a lamination option, they wouldn't be held responsible for any potential damage to the zines. This up-sale tactic feels a little exploitative if you ask me but they weren't gonna budge. I honestly didn't have the energy to go searching for a new print partner so I reduced my order quantity to fit the new cost of a matte lamination for the cover. The new prints are projects to arrive around August 12th which will delay shipping until after that point.
My hope is that I start getting these physical rewards out to people before the end of this month.
We sent out the final charges for shipping today. There are still a good chunk of people who need to update their payments for their initial pledge and add-ons so remember to check your accounts and see if your payments were declined. We will begin shipping through Flying Cloud after GenCon as we're still waiting on a few prints to come in.
As always, feel free to reach out to me here if you are having difficulties with your pledge or contact me directly at alewoodgames[a]gmail.com.
If you're going to GenCon next week, I'll be there running ARKYVR games at the Hilton Monument Hall and JW Marriott Friday-Sunday between 10a-7p. Come by and say hi between games or let's have a drink at the ENnie Awards reception Friday evening!
Some of you may have already heard that ARKYVR has been nominated for Best Supplement at the ENNIES this year. It's such an honor to be recognized by my peers and hold the same category alongside several titans of the industry. I won't lie, Alewood Games is a tiny publishing company and the chance of actually winning is majorly stacked against us.
That being said... it would be pretty neat to win. So, I'm letting ya'll know that voting has officially opened today and will go until July 20th.
Timing works out great as I'm putting the final touches on the OMENDROME zine and I will be sending out both ARKYVR and OMENDROME PDFs this weekend! I've sent in for a 2nd printing of ARKYVR and made a few tiny cosmetic fixes, so you all will be getting the PDF of the newest version of ARKYVR.
Thanks again to everyone for supporting my games, I'll post again very soon when we begin locking shipping addresses and shipping fees. Stay safe and happy gaming!
Digital rewards are out and available to all backers who locked their orders AND paid any outstanding add-on/tier fees. All ARKYVR supporting documents are free and can be found on the itch page here: https://alewoodgames.itch.io/arkyvr
I'll start locking addresses and charging for shipping by the end of this week, of course, I'll be sending 24 hour notifications before this begins. Have a great weekend!
Just a heads up that items added or upgraded to your pledge will be charged tomorrow. If you didn’t add anything to your pledge, nothing new will happen to your account.
Print orders for exclusive items are going out later this week and shipping will be confirmed and charge in a few weeks once we have all products in hand!
