Every card is hand-drawn and painted by me down to the letters. Every border is unique. I wanted the artwork to push me to get creative and try new things. I took a lot of inspiration from wildlife I have seen in Florida and from videos I have taken over the years. I put love into every card, I hope that when you use these cards you can feel the deep intention I put behind them.

More about the inspiration:

My sister got me my first tarot deck a few years ago which ignited my love for tarot or oracle decks. Pulling a card and meditating alone on the meaning was therapeutic. Pulling cards with friends was healing, a way to bond and give a glimpse of what you are going through that might be hard to say out loud. I began to dream of creating my own deck that celebrated Florida and the deep meanings I find attached to it. I also wanted to include cards that had some neutral or negative words attached to them (such as uncertain waters) Sometimes the cards push you to think. If you pull a negative card you have to gauge your own reaction. Is that what you want? Is there a reason why it might be good or bad?

why Florida?

In the wild, untamable corners of Florida there lingers an eerie magic, it is a place to be revered. Sublime rules here, the awe of nature’s beauty and ferocity is unmatched. Decades have been spent by humans trying and failing to make it manageable, a never ending battle to keep the wilderness back. Do you ever get the feeling that society often views you the same way? Be less messy, be less emotional, be less passionate, be tame, just fit in…. Come learn from this land’s wisdom. The duality of nature here, primal and slow moving but constantly ever-changing, much like our own psyches through time. This deck is built to make you think, self-reflect and challenge or bring out untamed aspects of your soul, to really ask yourself who you are and what you want, inside and outside in life.

You do not need to be a Floridian to enjoy this deck, just like I don't have to live in the Amazon to love its biodiversity! For those who live in colder climates it can be a warm, tropical ray of sunshine!
