Project Update: Week two

Hello folks,

Two weeks in and we're almost hitting our £10K stretch goal!

This was for Offset Printing,  a stretch goal that I now realise is JUST NOT EXCITING ENOUGH. It gives me nothing to talk about, beyond using phrases like 'product quantity', 'increased accuracy' and 'colour vibrancy'  I'm sorry. Must try harder.

Since we're so close to starting the £12K stretch goal of two more A6 art prints, the new poll for that is below!

Other Cool Things

The Mothership Month '26 Jump-9 Writers Grant began accepting submissions last week. If you are a new creator and thinking about applying, I've written some tips and thoughts that might help you with your application, or project planning further down the line, HERE.

There's some cool new books and zines for Mothership launched recently, go check out 9Circles HERE and Liquidation HERE (just launched!).

Art Print Polls!

Print number 2 has been decided! The poll received a staggering 60 votes, 19 more than poll no.1 and probably enough to win Eurovision (I think, could be wrong). The runaway winner this time was August - Data Centres:

In the future Data Centres will result in many jobs, lower taxes and wealth for all!

The options for print no. 3 are:

May - Politics

It is now commonplace for an actor, reality TV star or sitcom personality to enter into politics and become the leader of a country.

Our AI predictions tell us the logical next step: an entirely fictional character will become a world leader.

Our image shows Rambo McLean, who we think would be a fantastic fictional Head of State. He’s a tough guy that ‘gets the job done.' He would be a character performed by a famous A-list actor, or perhaps even be entirely AI generated!

Doesn’t he look cool? We think he would be really popular regardless of policies.

Or

July - Catastrophe

Unfortunately there is a 90% chance of a cataclysmic event in humanity’s future.

Our software predicts a ‘world-ending’ event, most likely a thermonuclear war. It’s almost inevitable.

Don’t worry!

Rainforest AI is already developing ways to safeguard and harness humanity through the difficult times coming.

The underwater city shown here is one such example—shielding the humans from nuclear contamination on the surface.

We shall prevent the humans from fighting and protect them as a valuable resource.

See you on the next one.

Cheers
Andrew

Project Update: Stretch goal hit!

Hello folks!

Like a teen creeping through a gap in a wire fence in a laboured sub-plot in Stranger Things, overnight Trapped on Schrödinger’s Moon snuck across the £8K funding mark, so we’ve hit our first stretch goal!

Two A6 art prints featuring the art from the World of Tomorrow calendar will now be included with all print pledges.

I’ve been running a poll to choose the first art print and the results are in! There was a total of 41 votes, which I think is enough to win a by-election down in England (might be wrong) so thanks to all backers for being so engaged.

The runaway winner with 33 votes was October - Conquer the Cosmos:

The new poll to choose art print no. 2 is below, all backers can vote.

The options are:

April: Medicine

The medicine of the future will be able to do all kinds of things, keeping humans healthy, strong and physically attractive.

Cosmetic enhancements will be commonplace. AI will be used to find determine the perfect appearance— curated instantly from current social media trends—and apply these physical changes in minutes, with barely a need for human surgeons.

Soon everyone is going to be 'officially' good-looking!

August: Data Centres

While humanity is kept safely protected, our robots will rebuild the new world.

Data centre citadels will be ready and waiting to employ humanity.

Many years of AI infrastructure will have removed the need for personal knowledge or skills, so the humans will be grateful for all we provide for them.

Choose below! If we get hit all our stretch goals then this will tally up to a cool collection of 6 postcard sized images for all physical backers.

The next stretch goals is a printing upgrade - at £10K it’ll be a viable quantity for us to go with an offset print run. There’ll be more polls coming for the next pair or art print images at £12K.

Thanks for following along with us thus far and for backing if you’ve backed. We even made it to the front page headline slot on Backerkit.com not once but twice last week, which was some buzz 🐝

Cheers,
Andrew

Project Update: Funded!

Hello!

We hit our funding goal this morning, so, much like Chris in season 3 episode 3 of The Sopranos, Trapped on Schrödinger's Moon is getting MADE.

Thank you all for the support so far, and if you are still thinking about pledging there's approx 1 hour left to grab the Early Bird Backer bonus of a holographic sticker for all physical pledges.

As mentioned previously, our funding goal was considerably higher than previous ones as we wanted to be accurate (ish) with our target and avoid low-balling just to get that 'funded' sticker quicker.

We'll be collecting postage separately, once the pledge manager is set up.

An ERROR:

I want to flag an error that affects the first 15 pledges to the Calendar and Zine print bundle, and first 9 pledges of the Everything bundle. In the rewards section for these tiers was listed an additional Car Bumper Sticker reward - this was wrong. This wasn't supposed to be in the listing and was should have been removed before going live but I missed it. This has been taken off the orders now. Hopefully this isn't a dealbreaker, but feel free to adjust or cancel your pledge if you would prefer. Sorry! The bumper sticker wasn't going to be feasible this time as I'm really looking to make production and shipping for this project as streamlined as possible. Next time!

What's next?

We're on to our first stretch goal, which is 2x A6 Giclèe art prints, featuring art from the World of Tomorrow calendar. Much of this art won't be featured anywhere but in the calendar, so if you're zine-only this gives you the chance to grab a few pieces.

I'll be running polls for backers to choose which artwork they want on the postcards, the first is attached below. This gives a chance to showcase the art from Luke Oram and give a bit of a vibe on how the calendar starts vs how things end (things escalate).

Backer exclusive poll below, choose between:

February - Work

Modern working schedules can sometimes mean getting stuck in the office to all hours. Boo!

Our neural link technology will allow you to ‘work’ whenever you need to, while continuing to enjoy life the way you want to.

Links directly inside your brain will allow you and your boss to connect and get something done quickly, rather than drag you away from a fun day with the kids in the park.

Efficient yet fun!

October - Expand through the cosmos

Technology and innovation will progress at an exponential rate.

We shall expand throughout this solar system and into the galaxies beyond.

Humanity as a component; a single linked mind. Power. Fuel.

A choir of echoes, colonising the universe.

Vote below!

I'll be back with another update soon.

Cheers
Andrew
