Project Update: Production Update!

Hello again everyone! I have a quick production update for you all, which will hopefully be the first of many with all the cool new items I had planned with the success of this campaign :)

First things first, there are still 12 of you who haven't completed your survey and 7 who still have failed payments. Please finish this ASAP so I can get the rest of the funds for production.

IF YOU LOST YOUR SURVEY please let me know and I can re-send the link!

First up: Stickers!

The individual stickers have been made, but due to a manufacturing error many of them have print issues and are currently being remade. These will hopefully be in my hands within the next two weeks~

Sticker sheets are done and have shipped to me- but I've been dealing with a certain purple and orange shipping company which has been giving me the run-around, and hopefully I can pick these up by Tuesday. I'm particularly excited for these since I've never done sticker sheets before, so hopefully they turned out great! Expect another update in a week or so for a look at the final product :)

Pin production:

Pins are officially in production! We have 15 designs with the addition of the Pink Butterfly Nebula pin, all of which will have 2 pin posts and pink star-shaped rubber clutches, and I opted to add a back stamp with the logo I designed for this project on each one so you never forget where they came from :)

For anyone who was curious, this is what a 'proof' for the pins looks like:
Scorpion Pin Production Proof

Proofs are used to show the designer (me) a final layout of colors, size, and placement for things after we submit our designs for production. With pins, this will also show the PMS (Pantone) colors that will be used. PMS colors are a standard way of mixing and creating colors for large scale production are used all over the globe! This proof also shows the back of the pin, where the posts will go and where the back stamp will be placed. In sticker and keychain production, a proof will show the cutline or border of the finished product, and with keychains they will also show the keychain attachment or clasp and the hole where this will be attached.

Speaking of Pink Butterfly Pins, if you pledged for a pin and wanted to get this design, you will need to add it to your pledge in the add-on section. It is NOT available in the pledge questions as it was added after the surveys were sent and I can no longer edit pledge questions. If you wanted to change your pledge answer and get this version instead of the orange one, please leave a comment or message me directly on Instagram and I can add a note to your pledge to send this to you instead. If at all possible, I would prefer these be kept as add-ons instead of me having to add notes for everyone as it can mess with my item counts, but I do know it can be annoying to have to buy something you didn't initially plan on purchasing.

My manufacturer has promised to send some behind-the-scenes photos of the pins while they are in production so keep an eye out for these in another update!

Keychains:

Keychains are not yet in production, but I am working on this now! These don't take quite as long as the pins take to manufacture, so I've been waiting a little on these to see how many of each design I should order. I am also planning on ordering some fun new items for my regular shop, which I will order at the same time.
Hopefully I will have another manufacturing update in a week or so, and you can see the progress and maybe even get a little sneak-peak at some new things coming to my shop this summer <3

Next Steps:

The next steps (for me) will be to design some postcard prints and backing cards for the pins! With my usual shop orders, I like to include a little postcard-sized print, and I want to design a special one for all of you who backed this project! These will be about 4x6 inches (the same size as the sticker sheet) and of course be space-themed. When your orders come in, you'll have an extra little goodie you can hang on your wall or display with your pins and stickers :)

For the backing cards, I think I will do one size and design for most of the pins, and possibly a larger one for the Space Cutter Ant sets, though I'm also considering (for the ant set and for orders of 3 or more pins) just using an extra postcard print to put all of them on instead to save paper and space.

I am particularly partial to having each pin on it's own card so if you bought some for a friend you can more easily disperse them or give them as gifts, and because I like creating a fun unboxing experience for all my customers. Though I like this option for myself, I also acknowledge that it is easier and more packing/ space -efficient to have all the pins on one card.

Your opinion matters to me and I DO take your thoughts into consideration- I am attaching a poll to this update to help decide which option to go with, so please choose which option you prefer!

Sorry for claiming this would be a quick update then following that statement with thousand or so words to read :|

tldr; PLEASE fill out your survey if you haven't done so already! All items are in or entering production, and so far we are still on track to have your orders shipped out by the end of May.
