Inspired by life-story systems found across many classic TTRPGs, this Mothership supplement aims to provide a quick and enjoyable way to further deepen a character’s backstory; offering mechanical and narrative boons and banes through the random chance of dice.
Arising from key points in a character’s past, the player holds the power to choose what path is tread, but the dice hold their fate. Life-Paths are also designed to inspire the player and Warden in fleshing out their character’s history, with the narrative of events (and outcomes) written to be easily expanded upon.
The simplicity of Life-Paths means that it can be run before or after the rest of a character’s creation. It can be run during downtime activities, as PC sharing war stories over a drink. Or it can be run in the middle of a session, with the characters reminiscing on how their past choices lead to this (in)opportune moment.
The supplement is designed to be easily implemented, with a path taken, an event chosen, dice rolled, and the results given. Perks or penalties depending on luck and fate. It covers the four Core Classes in Mothership: Marine, Scientist, Teamster, & Android, with five background archetypes provided for each.
This product is a continuation of our Life-Path series, with the highly successful Shadowdark edition being incredibly well received (read the reviews for yourself). Check it out on DTRPG

Note: The following is a working draft and subject to change.
The amazing collection of souls that have helped bring this book to life, offering their own unique and personal touch to the art, design, and writing.
Daniel James: Writer, designer, and all round dogsbody. Elise James: A reluctant quality editor who has been fixing her husband's mistakes for far too many years. Ananyo Chatterjee: A talented artist who slaps together some mean drawings in mere moments. Akumata: Writer and artist, putting everything in place one pixel at a time. Alex Weldon: A board game designer turned news editor, still moonlighting in games. RA Creedon: A game designer and tutor who uses her collage hobby as an excuse to hoard neat pieces of paper. Nathan Moody: A writer, artist, and sound designer who’s been roleplaying for four decades. Kai Morrison: A writer and performer gripped by a(n un)healthy obsession with imagining terrible things and weird people. Sinyi: Your friendly anxiety ridden android, creating nightmares for all to enjoy. Beep boop!
If POD delivery and fulfillment is a new concept to you, the process is simple and straight-forward.
When the project is complete, you'll receive a link to the digital files as well as an "at-cost" code for the book.
You use the code to purchase the book as you would normally purchase something, however, you are only paying what it costs for the book to be printed and shipped. The minimum amount.
This is a cheap, easy, and effective way to run a smaller campaign as it saves on logistics while allowing you to get the products at a low cost point.
And while the quality of POD books is not as prestige as custom print runs, the books are still well-made and (most of all) cheap to get your hands on.
Print & Shipping Costs
Both digital files and POD fulfillment will be completed via DTRPG. Print Costs (estimates - USD)
