Project Update: Post-Campaign Roundup
So sorry about the week of silence, I've unfortunately been under the weather with Oregon's allergy season hitting me full in the face. However, I'm back amongst the living and here to reiterate that, as you all know, Pocketopia was a MASSIVE success! Trinkit reached more than twice its funding goal while clocking overtime at the end for nearly an hour as more backers jumped in with seconds to spare. It was incredible to watch!. When we first started planning Trinkit last November we never thought we'd pass our funding goal in 14 hours or reach 160 backers or have so many people interested in our printed patches and bandanas. It's still hard to believe even after a week of sitting in this reality and working towards putting Trinkit into production. Thank you all so, so much for helping us make our first game together a reality. With that being said, let's talk about what comes next.
Where We're At & Where We're Going
Funding and Failed Charges
First and foremost, we should receive our funds from Backerkit sometime towards the end of this coming week or early next. At the moment, there are still some pledges that have failed charges and Backerkit gives backers 14 days to get their cards and accounts sorted out. That being said, if you haven't seen a charge on your account for Trinkit yet or received an email stating you've been successfully charged then your bank may have flagged it as fraud and you'll need to give the ok for it to go through properly. Backerkit has this handy page on how to update your payment method as well: How Do I Update My Payment Method?
Survey Results
The results of our survey are in! More than 50% of you said that you'd prefer a traditional, thick game board and we're happy to announce that that's exactly what we'll be delivering. I looked into the options available from our printer and we'll be going with a traditional thick greyboard stock with a quarter fold. This should give you all a nice sturdy board to play on that will fold up nicely to fit in our intended 5"x5" box. We're excited to be able to upgrade the board quality and make Trinkit even more robust than originally imagined. Thank you all for your feedback!
Printing and Shipping
After we receive our funding from Stripe we'll be able to go ahead with printing immediately. The process might take a month or two as shipping by freight can take a while. We'll keep you updated along the way with any news about completed printing, shipping, and arrival estimates. Once everything arrives here in Portland, we'll send out our surveys with proper shipping amounts and begin packaging up the games with any add-ons you may have purchased.
Meanwhile, the Work Continues
Though the game itself is complete and ready to go to the printer, it doesn't mean we'll be resting on our laurels while we wait for the finished games to arrive. Diana has been working so, so hard making sure the bandanas and patches are the best they can produce and I can't wait for you all to see them in person. They're SO cool! They've also gone above and beyond with a little 'thank you' surprise exclusive to backers of this campaign.
We're happy to say that Côme Martin's A Week with Frog and Rabbit successfully met its funding goal as well, and that means we'll also be working on our collaboration rewards for anyone that backed both of our projects. Diana has already printed a stack of patches for the Trinkit side of things and I'll be working on an illustration to add to Côme's extra Frog and Rabbit story. As I've said before, Frog and Rabbit really tugs on my nostalgia-filled heartstrings and I'm so happy that we were able to work with Côme on the project.
And I suppose, fellow critters, that about sums things up for now. I'll keep the updates coming as we meet our next milestones and we'll work on getting Trinkit out to all of you as soon as we can. In the meantime, follow our Instagram for small updates and insights as well as dates and times for live play events here in Portland, OR.
Thank you all so much for your support,
Ryan and Diana

PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: 48 Hours Left!
Hello Fellow Crows and Critters!
We've hit the final 48 hours of our campaign for Trinkit and we couldn't be more pleased with our progress! Thank you all so much for your support over the past three weeks. It's meant so much to us. We have no idea what the final 48 will look like and we're so happy with how things have gone that we're not even making predictions, just appreciating the ride.
We've decided that backers in the final 48 will get their own special bonus: we'll personally CAW! into each box before we seal them up! That way you can hear our echo ring out the first time you open the game to play!
Obviously, we're delirious with excitement and just kidding. Seriously though, one thing I would ask of all of you as Pocketopia comes to a close is to go and check out our cross-collaboration partner, A Week with Frog and Rabbit by Côme Martin. They're so close to funding and they just need a little push to make it over the line. It's such an adorable story game and, as someone who grew up with my mother reading me the Frog and Toad stories that also inspired Côme, I want to see them succeed and I really, really want to illustrate a special story for the book featuring our friends Crow and Opossum (from the Chuzdud logo). Thank you for considering them. I hope you find Frog and Rabbit as nostalgic and heartwarming as I do. Especially with all of the gorgeous art by François Maumont.
Thank you all so much and we'll chat again after the campaign ends,
Ryan and Diana
PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: One Week to Go!
What an amazing two weeks we've had! It's hard to believe we've come so far so quickly and it's all thanks to every one of you. As we don't have any stretch goals with this campaign, we haven't been updating as frequently as some of the other campaigns since we didn't want to bother you all unnecessarily. However, with one week left of Pocketopia we wanted to catch you all up on what we've been up to.
First and foremost, we passed 200% funded yesterday! Incredible! We hope to use anything extra to improve the quality of the materials in the box as well as pay ourselves back for the materials we bought pre-campaign.
Second, Diana has been working super hard designing, cutting, and printing the linocut bandanas and patches. They're looking absolutely amazing, as you can see in these photos of them in process.
Each one of the bandanas is nine separate blocks stamped a total of 26 times. They take about four hours of work each with heat sealing. Our house looks like a little pirate ship galley with all of them hanging around our kitchen and living room to dry. Everything smells like linseed oil, too, which is a plus in my book.
Diana ended up making the CAW! patches larger than originally planned so they could get as much detail into each one as possible. Hot tip, that pink linocut block is really satisfying to print!
Third, we've been graciously invited to have our wrap party at Guardian Games here in Portland. No time set yet, but if it works out we're hoping to run several games of Trinkit at once and pass out prizes for the three players that win the most rounds. Guardian is also hoping to carry Trinkit once it's printed, which will be a dream come true for us. Guardian is Portland's biggest gaming store and I've been frequenting it for years, buying cool games and rpgs and using their live play space for roleplaying campaigns. It would be an honor to see our game on their shelves.
One last thing before we go: Our original plan for our game board was to print it on heavy magazine stock like a number of smaller games do. This would make it nice and light and thinly foldable but it would also crease it. With the outpouring of enthusiasm we've seen here for Trinkit, we were considering stepping up to a thicker game board on card stock, either as four 5"x5" tiles or on a cut and folded board stock like, say, a Monopoly board, only folding in fourths. In order to hear your opinions on the matter, we've created a poll available only to backers. We'd love it if you'd access the poll either at the bottom of this update or in the community section of our page and add your vote!
Here's hoping for another strong week of the campaign! We're excited to see how far we can go, especially in the final 48 hours.
Thank you all so much!
Ryan and Diana
PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: Want More Than One Copy of Trinkit? Grab More as an Add-On!
Just a quick update to say that, thanks to a suggestion by one of our amazing backers, I've now added copies of Trinkit at both tiers, as well as an extra board game bandana, to our Add-Ons page. Don't know why I didn't think about this earlier, but if you've got someone in your life that might enjoy a copy as a gift, or maybe you don't want to have to share the single bandana, you can grab anything you'd like as an add-on to your pledge. Thanks for the suggestion Rozerbud!

PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: Funded on Day One!
Wow, what an amazing launch day! Thank you all so, so much for your support. We're honestly just as floored as we are excited about funding less than 24 hours into our campaign. It's such an amazing feeling to know that our little game sounds as interesting to you all as it is to us and that so many people are willing to join us in this endeavor.
From here on out expect regular updates as we create the 'CAW!' card patches and Diana finishes their designs for the linocut bandana game board. Speaking of, here's a sneak peek at the center design as test printed on paper:
Now that we've funded we'll be utilizing any above and beyond funding for upgraded printing and quality of our box and board and possibly even an extra trinket or two. We also have ideas in mind for expansion packs, but we'll get to those once the main game is printed, shipped, and enjoyed.
Please keep sharing Trinkit with your friends and family so we can make this the best possible game for everyone involved and don't forget there's still 24 hours left to gain early bird rewards. Please also check out our cross-collaboration with Côme Martin's A Week with Frog and Rabbit if you haven't already. The book looks incredible and we can't wait to be in one of the stories.
Again, thank you all so, so much! We're so grateful that you're willing to help support our little labor of love.
