Project Update: New Prints and Poem Prints in the Works for Fulfillment!

Hello my dearest backers! Thank you so SO much for funding this campaign and making it possible for me to create my next poetry book and learn the art of Riso printing! Let's dive into updates.

The Latest

Essentially I have had to wait for BackerKit to process all the payments (as I'm sure you all noticed over the last couple weeks) and then deposit the backer money into my account before I could go buy paper and get started at Pickwick printing poems, art, and the poetry book. It all happened this week so thank you all again so much. I was able to go and get some nice paper for prints and also to begin printing my poetry book.

Art Prints

If you backed the art print tier, then you will have four options to choose from when the backer surveys go out. You have already seen one of the art prints, allow me to share with you the other three!

Both "Light's Wake" and "Quiet Spellcasting" are smaller prints, and "The Past as a Sculpture" is an 8.5 x 11. They are all on 65lb yardstick so the richness of the Riso ink takes nicely to the paper. I look forward to sending these out to you, art backers!

Poem Print

For my poem print I will be sending out, I chose my eclipse poem. It was a hit at the Portland Poets Society so it felt right to share it with you, my poem print backers, because you have helped me look up, up, up! As the poem says--to the sky, where my dreams are. Thank you for supporting me on this art journey. Here's a peep at your poem print in the color "Mint":

I do like this print, but now that I know more about colors on the Riso machine, I was thinking of doing this on black paper, with bright yellow or flat gold ink. What do you think of that idea, poem print backers? Or do you like this mint-on-creme look?

Poetry Book Progress

For many of you, you are here to get a copy of my handmade poetry book. Today I was able to learn on the Riso machine how to print double-sided pages in such a way that they make sense. So I have all of the pages prepared for the book itself and will be printing all of them this Thursday, May 16th. I'm very excited to show you more progress on this book on Thursday.

In the meantime, I am on the hunt for the perfect internal paper for the pages of the poetry book. I want to do something more apropos than just craft paper or printer paper. So more to come on the paper quality of the poetry book as well.

Stickers

Sticker print day is tomorrow, woohoo! Look forward to a couple posts this week, since I'll be printing out cute stickers tomorrow for everyone who added them to their pledge or already has a tier with my art stickers on it. Yay!

Wrap up

Thank you again so much for being on this journey with me. It really means so much to me that I get to go to the studio and work on my art, my poetry, and my printing skills to create things to send to you very soon. When I go to Pickwick and I work on these things, I think of you all and how you are here with me. I think of how you have enabled me to make magic with ink and paper and ideas. There are not enough thanks in the world for that, so I shall probably continue to overwhelm you with thanks, LOL! Farewell for today, and I will write to you again Thursday about stickers and poetry books.

Much love,
Coco
