I just wanted to check in and let you all know what's been going on with the Black Tower Hack. First off I decided to completely rewrite the Atlas of the Languishing Lands. It's still building off of the bones of what was in the preview doc, but it is expanding out to be the best GM companion that it can be. The even better news is that the project is still on target to deliver in printed form by June. The bestiary has been expanded out to 45 entries, with all monsters from the Black Sword Hack SRD being replaced with original enemies born of the Languishing Lands. Here's a preview of some soul hungry demons for you while you wait. I'm going to try and make a habit of dropping material here from every couple of weeks.
Thank you, Gunslingers! The support for the Black Tower Hack has been incredible, and so much more than I had even hoped for. I can't wait to get these books out to all of you. The Gunslinger's Guide is already in the hands of my editor, Mari. And the Atlas of the Languishing Lands will be heading her way soon. As for myself, I will be heading to the art mines to pry loose gritty illustrations from the cold dead earth.
I will be sending updates periodically when there are things to report, but until then assume no news is good news. Long days and pleasant nights to you all.
Fun Fact: I didn't realize the last update didn't publish. So that's fun! Anyway the campaign just broke the $2k mark, and we hit a stretch goal that apparently no one new about. So here's all that info with a day left in the campaign.
It so incredible seeing how many people are excited about the Black Tower Hack! Honestly the campaign is already doing better than I thought it might. So I decided to add some more stretch goals to the campaign.
We hit $2000! All physical orders will include stickers. Everybody loves stickers.
If we hit $2500 print-at-home GM prep worksheets.
If we hit $3000 you'll get an extra adventure PDF.
And finally if this campaign hits $5000 I will make a "Learn to Play" YouTube series.
Thank you all so much for bringing the Black Tower Hack to life! Not only that, but we've already hit our first "Mari gets a raise" stretch goal! Remember, that is a recurring goal. So thank you from both of us. Of course we still have the rest of the month, so I am excited to see how far the borders of the Languishing Lands go.
Now that I can unclench, it's time to get back to work. The Gunslinger's Guide is already text complete and in Mari's hands for editing. Writing continues on the Atlas of the Languishing Lands, but a good chunk of that was already complete before the campaign. I strive to have a quick turn around on my campaigns.
