The final step is complete - your pins & stickers are on their way to you!
Many of you may actually receive your package by today. I got so excited shipping everything out on Monday that that I forgot to post/ send the tracking til now. Oops.
[Note for the few of you that are only receiving a sticker, there won't be tracking on your envelope.]
I did my very best to package these cuties up so that they would arrive safe & sound. The pins are wrapped in extra bubble wrap inside the bubble mailer, and the stickers are in their own clear bags, sandwiched inbetween cards to keep them from getting bent. I also did my best to triple check everyone's order to make sure nothing got missed or swapped, or that any pins with defects were not included in the orders.

The stickers arrived last week and they are oh SO cute, I think y'all will love them.
A small delay upon realizing the insert cards were not going to fit inside the bubble mailers, so I* needed to tweak the design a little and swap my packaging.
*Shout out to my amazing wife who actually did most of the design work 😂
The cards are arriving today, I tested my new thermal printer for the shipping labels (what a breeze), and I will begin stuffing packages this weekend!
You should have received an email that addresses are being locked down in 48 hours, which means it's your last chance to make any address updates!
I plan to ship these packages out in the next few days - stay tuned and thanks for your patience :)
Even though I decided not to participate this round, you should absolutely check it out. There are kid's books, comic books, fantasy, all kinds.
One project in particular I want to shout out is Finish Your Cosplay! - inspirational and educational self-help for makers. If you take on any type of creative DIY projects this book was made for you. I don't make costumes, but I already backed it because I know it will be full of great tips I can apply to my own creative works!

p.s. Last update I announced that I was participating in the upcoming Booktopia. But sometimes our "do the damn thing" is really "bit off more than we could chew" and I decided to pause that plan. I am still planning to write my book this year, but giving myself a lot more spaciousness to do it. So stay tuned for that a bit later on down the road. :)
We've reached the next stage my friends: production is complete and the pins are currently flying through the sky on their way to me.

When I heard BackerKit was launching "Booktopia", I knew it was the kick in the butt to finally organize my years of writing and content creation into something more long-lasting, value-filled, and fun.

Hello friends! After taking a pause from the wild ride of the campaign, I'm back with the next step:
Surveys are here!
First I will send the "Smoke Test" which means 5% of you will receive your survey tonight, and I can check & fix any errors. If all looks good, the rest of you will have your survey by Thursday!
For those new to crowdfunding, the survey is where you will:
Select which design(s) you want for your pins and stickers
Add on any extra goodies that you didn't pledge for during the campaign (optional!)
Enter your shipping info
Enter your card details
As a reminder, shipping was not included in your original pledge.
For most of you, your card was charged the day the project ended (Apr. 18th) for your pledge and/or add-ons. You will now owe shipping only (+ any extra add-ons selected in the survey).
For those whose cards did not originally go through on Apr. 18th, you will owe now for everything.
I am aiming to have everyone fill out their surveys by June 3rd.
The faster surveys are completed, the sooner I have item counts and we can go into production! I am still aiming to fulfill orders by August, and speedy survey completion will make that possible.
Did you pledge before the One Step at a Time Turtle was unlocked? Be sure to add him in your survey! 10% of all turtle proceeds will go to CureSearch for pediatric cancer research via the "Ultimate Hike" fundraiser. Grab a turtle for you, and one for a friend!

I cannot thank you all enough for pledging to my very first crowdfunding campaign and making it a wild success. Fear of failure almost made me skip participating in Pintopia (the "I don't even know how to draw... what if I don't know anyone who likes pins..." type thoughts were strong!)
But I'm so glad I followed my own advice and did the dam thing! 🦫
We ended at a whopping $1775 of my original $600 funding goal, including hitting all THREE stretch goals!
Not only will you have more fun designs to choose from in the survey, collectively we will be able to donate money to pediatric cancer with the final addition of the Turtle. So thank you!
WHAT'S NEXT >>>
Payments
Now that the campaign has ended, your card will be charged for your initial pledge. BackerKit is doing this in waves due to the high volume of pledges, to reduce the chance of fraud alerts for backers. So most of you have already been charged, and a few of you are still to go. The charge description will either say "Motivation with Animals", "Courtney Loechl" or "BackerKit".
Failed Payments A handful of folks had declined charges, which is normal. Sometimes banks think crowdfunding is fraud and block the charge, especially if you pledged to multiple projects. (This happened to me after several charges went through - my bank said no more 😂 Guess it didn't know I needed so many pins!)
You will also receive an email alerting you, where you can edit card details and/or re-confirm your pledge if you sorted things with your bank. Please help me out and do your best to sort failed payments!
If your payment fails, BackerKit will also attempt to charge your payment method a few more times in the following days. If your payment still fails, fear not, you will still receive your survey where you can update your payment at that time to ensure you get your rewards.
Surveys
In a couple of weeks you will receive an email with a BackerKit survey. This is where you will select which animals you want for your pins and stickers, provide your shipping address, and pay for shipping. And, if desired, you will also have the chance to add on any extra goodies!
Pre-Order Store
The pre-order store is like a mini Etsy. If you have friends who missed the campaign, this is for them! If you are a campaign backer, you do NOT need to use the pre-order store. If you want any extra pins or stickers, you can choose those in the upcoming survey so that you only get one shipment (and only pay once for shipping).
The pre-order store will open this coming Wednesday; please share the link with folks when it does!
