Project FAQ
At the start there will not be. However, when you go to close out your pledge (when the campaign is over), we will be offering a "Print Version" add-on for +$10 (and probably +$7 in shipping). This would be around 100 loose pages (to allow for copying/handing out). It will feature everything from the campaign (including bonus and stretch goal materials). It would also include an illustrated folio (a sort of folder-type thing) to put them in. This add-on will be set to unlock if 100 backers commit to it.
We have tried to incorporate everything that might be needed during play, except for the result details for wetware, mutations, etc. (though page numbers are provided). This includes the character's attributes, saves, critical and fumble dice, initiative bonuses, birth signs, occupation, hit die, AC (both natural and armored), equipment (changing as the seeker goes from level to level), archaic alignment, weapons and ammo, action dice, level, XP, missile and melee bonuses, tech level, artifact bonus, AI recognition modifier, and all powers and skills associated with their genotype. Basically, all the details other than their names!
Each of the pre-gens has 5 illustrations split between their 11 levels (0 to 10). The illustrations help tell the tale of how the seeker has grown and changed as they level up. Sometimes this reveals scars and defects. Others it shows off new equipment or powers. These illustrations were wonderfully executed by artist Michael Greer to be fun, and inspiring for the players. With just one look, you can kind of get a vibe for the seeker and can almost hear what their voice would be like!
When the campaign ends, I will put up the PDFs for my other projects as well as some physical copies for sell (which will require shipping charges). In the meantime, Goodman Games still has many of my products on their electronic store front.
As a PDF project, the final version should go out in early November (though if we hit all the stretch goals, I might be dependent on the artists' timelines, which could push it maybe into December). If the Print Version add-on gets funded during the pledge management phase, those prints will probably not be shipped until some time in December.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
