Project Update: The Voyage Is About to End…or Is It Just Beginning?

Just a quick update before we hit a bit of “radio-silence” during the days surrounding GenCon:

Going to the Printers
Great news—everything is off to the printer’s on Monday. This means they will compile several proof copies (the project contains 5 separately printed parts) that probably will not get approved until the following week. Then, there will be about 1-2 weeks to get the actual printing. It is likely that shipping will take place the week of the 17th.

Surveys
Surveys are on their way, please look for them in the next few days!

The PDF Is Coming SOON!
I have to do some re-combining of things to make the PDF version, but it will probably be ready to send out the week of the 10th, with the digital images of the maps for all PDF and physical backers. I’ve included a picture of the big vinyl maps I had made for running this game at GenCon this year (created very inexpensively through Stomp Stickers). Feel free to do stuff like that with the images, but keep in mind you cannot use them for commercial use, redistribution, or profit.
Poster Versions of Organ Maps for GenCon

The Final Stats for the Physical Version
In its final form, the physical version has:
  • A tri-fold, full-color detachable cover. It features the organ maps on the 3-panel backside, the base “body map” with the beast’s skeletal and muscular system on the extra panel, and, of course, the front and back cover illustrations on the other 2 panels.
  • 2 transparency sheets (8.5”x11”) featuring the organ systems and the circulatory and lymphatic systems, as well as isometric and top-down grids for measuring distances on the various maps.
  • The interior adventure pages are B&W saddle-stitched; they came in at 40 pages (including an index of creature stats on the last few pages.
  • On top of that there are 2 B&W pull-out sections (each double-sided and measuring 17”x11”—the equivalent of 8 printed pages) that feature quick reference material for the PCs’ ship (The Telos) and all the information and random reaction charts for the “Mega-Beast.”
  • And one full-color, double-sided, 17”x11” pull-out section featuring the map of the StarSpawn facility and the map of the Telos (this is where I put people’s donated money—I felt this was a nicer addition than just a foil embossment on the cover).

The Village getting ready for GenCon/Print

The Village Zine
Meanwhile, the little zine, “The Village” will also be printed for those that are interested. It will cost $10 and feature:
  • A double-sided, full-color, detachable cover with the map of the village on the reverse side.
  • 16 interior B&W pages describing the locations in and around the village as well as tons of random generation charts and adventure hooks weaved throughout.
*If you already paid for the PDF of this zine as a campaign add-on, you will be offered a discount to purchase it in print ($8).

Shipping
I am still working out all the shipping, but for the most part, shipping on the adventure itself will be $7.00 domestically. Most add-ons are going to raise that by about $1-$2 (Unnatural Selection Binders will be a bit more because they require a more extensive shipping/packing process).

Join Me for Another One?
Shortly after this gets mailed I’ll be putting out my next crowdfunding project, “A Mutant for all Seasons,” a set of MCC pregens featuring all 7 genotypes with versions ranging from 0 to 10 that actually feel “lived in.” Each will have a nice selection of equipment appropriate to their level and an awesome illustration (changing as they progress) by artist Michael Greer—Stay Tuned!!!
Amazing Michael Greer healer art from "A Mutant for all Seasons."

Thanks for bringing another one of my crazy projects to life, folks—I couldn’t have done it without you!
