After a small delay, we are excited to share that the Steam version of Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split is now available!

Chromatic Split is a standalone prologue to the upcoming Outbreak: Shades of Horror starring our hero Lydia Daniels.  Our detective enters the Cypress Ridge sewer system to meet with her contact on the eve of a massive zombie outbreak, and things quickly devolve from there.

If you selected Steam as your platform of choice when responding to the survey in our previous post, your complimentary game key will be sent out between today Oct 29th and Thurs Oct 31st!

Hey Survivors!  Just a quick update tonight--

As of right now, Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split has NOT released on Steam due to a last minute snag.  This means that Steam codes haven't and cannot be distributed to backers who selected that platform as an option until this is resolved.  We're hopeful this will be handled within the next few days.

Thank you so much for your patience!  We're excited to get Steam users their Chromatic Split keys as soon as possible!

If you selected Xbox Series X|S as your platform of choice, and if you qualified for the key, your code has been delivered to your inbox!  You should see an email with the subject line "Your Chromatic Split Game Key."

Hello Survivors!

First off, we apologize for how quiet things have been here. As many of you know, we've been hard at work designing and building Outbreak: Shades of Horror for months now to properly meet our promises to our backers on Kickstarter. For more information about this game, please see its campaign page.

It has been a dark and challenging time for the video game industry.  Countless developers of all sizes have been forced to close, and thousands of people have lost their jobs. Even though we are a small game developer consisting of only three people, we have still felt the sting. On top of these struggles, Evan, our sole engineer, has unfortunately had to contend with several major health setbacks, while Julia, our head of business and narrative lead, has had to manage multiple severe family crises.

Thanks to incredible support for backers like you, we are still here and fighting to release quality games that exceed your expectations. However, we cannot pretend that these events have not impeded us or our development goals and timelines.

As a result, we deeply regret to announce that Railbreak VR and the Tailbreak expansion have been delayed to an unspecified time in 2025. We know this is as extremely disappointing for you as it is for us. We would like to offer our sincerest apologies for being unable to deliver these products to you in the original timeframe we promised during our campaign.

As a token of our appreciation and as part of our apology, any of you who backed us at a tier where you are entitled to a key for Tailbreak or Railbreak VR will also be given a free, complimentary copy of Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split, which releases for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on this Friday October 25th.

Chromatic Split is a standalone survival horror game featuring a three act campaign, several unlockable bonus modes, multiple difficulty settings, and a myriad of achievements and cheat codes to discover.  It has a retail value of $24.99 USD.

If your platform of choice is PC via Steam or Xbox Series X|S, you will receive your complimentary Chromatic Split code between October 25th and 27th.  If you select PlayStation 5 as your platform of choice, you will receive a complimentary Chromatic Split code for PlayStation 5 this autumn when that version of the game releases. These game codes will be delivered to the email you share with us in the above survey.
