Project Update: Interview With Fang Monster Illustrator - Erin Green & Dolmenwood Stretch Goal in Our Sights!

The whimsical little monsters in the Fang Dungeon Bestiary are being brought to life by Erin Green, an illustrator and art instructor from Vancouver, BC, who is renowned for her illustration tutorials on the Children of the Craft youtube channel.

I had an opportunity to chat with Erin about her background and journey as an illustrator, and discussed our shared love of Mary Blair, Eyvind Earle, Maurice Noble, and even working at old video stores!

If you haven't had a chance to check out her work in Fang Dungeon Bestiary, you're missing out!

The rules of Fangelsehala were designed to be lightweight and easy to learn. However, we know that some folks like a bit more complexity for their ongoing campaigns.

One of our stretch goals is to create a second digital version with same fun illustrations, but has Dolmenwood compatible monster stats. We chose Dolmenwood, which seems to be the best fit for our whimsical fairy tale monsters, but the stats will mostly work for OSE, B/X and any number of other flavors of OSR games.

We are just under $1500 from reaching this stretch goal at $7500. If you want to see this brought to life, please share the image below and link to our backerkit page on social media!

In case you missed it, I also did a Zinetopia LOVEstream of the many other cool projects. Please have a look and support some of these other indie creators!

Thanks again for your support for this little game!

Project Update: Interview With Fang Adventure Designer - Regin the Mapmaker

One of the coolest thing about designing games is connecting with other creative people!

On my podcast, I was joined by Regin the Mapmaker (Christian Lindquist) the gold winner of the Fun With Fäng Jam with his adventure Passion for Dummies which involved a magical stew that was meant to attract love, but is destroying the forest instead.

Regin also put in a second adventure called Hel's Kitchen, where Adventurers were sent to retrieve magical bacon, and they encounter Hel herself, who is trapped in a prison of her own making.

Learn how Regin started playing Fängelsehåla with his kids, which resulted in these incredible adventures!

WATCH THE INTERVIEW

Did you know that Zinetopia is a community of designers that are bringing their passion to game design in small but incredible ways? Take a look at some of these other projects that might interest you!

Raspberry Juice - Adventure for Fängelsehåla designed by Omer Shapira, and is loosely based on the plot of a popular Israeli children’s storybook called “Mitz Petel” (raspberry juice in Hebrew).

If you back Raspberry Juice along with Fang Dungeon Bestiary, you will receive a Cross-Collaboration item of a jointly created 8-page digital activity book of ephemera that you would find in the back of comic books and kids magazines.

The Deepest Dark - A turn-based GM-less oneshot inspired by The Quiet Year and Ten Candles about a group of scientists trapped by a cave-in, forced to explore underground.

H.O.M.E. - Haven of Misplaced Existence is a tactical TTRPG set in a Cyberpunk Horror setting. Players take on the role of a party of adventurers affiliated with a Guild similar to those in fantasy manga like Goblin Slayer, with the same dynamics, in a futuristic dystopian metropolis divided between the corporate rich and the poor, isolated in an unreal dimension like Lovecraft's Dreamlands.

Blightfall - Doomed villagers infected by darkness sacrifice shreds of their humanity for the power to defend their home. Combines collaborative worldbuilding, player-driven narrative, and strategic combat to tell stories of hope and tragedy.

Wildest Shape - This 5E subclass lets your Druid Wild Shape into themselves, but from another universe! A fun, powerful, and playable 5E subclass plus new spells, items, and creatures!

Tales from the Cockpit Print Run - A Lost & Found solo game about a giant robot, its many pilots, and the passage of time; now also funding The Cog That Remains, a Wretched & Alone solo game of a mecha mechanic.

Great Hexpectations - Hex based encounters and tables for your campaign.

Worms Worms Worms for Mothership RPG - Five distinct sci-fi horror scenarios, each with a different flavor of worm-soaked disaster. Run them as parasite fuelled one-shots or drop them into an ongoing campaign!

The Wanderer's Bookshop - A mixed media solo journaling bookshop simulator; Guided by tarot cards, read books, solve a mystery, collect stories and journal your way to a keepsake.

Three Punk Games - 3 small, angry, fast games, which stick to their own rules.* SEX/VIOLENCE/POOP 3* explores the limits of your bad taste. HEX & THE PUNKS rebels against patriarchal systems. We were punks goes back to an era where everything seemed possible.

Keep supporting creative work!

Project Update: Fäng Dungeon Bestiary is funded, and moving towards stretch goals!

It is incredibly humbling to have others find value in your crazy ideas! With your support, we are now able to bring you 36 wonderfully weird monsters that will give your players all they can handle in the dungeon!

Next is unlocking our first stretch goal! A digital layout of the Action - Item - Mystery (AIM) procedure that will spark adventure ideas for your Fängelsehåla games! We just need to hit $2500 CDN - so please share the link to the Dungeon Bestiary on socials, as it does help the algorithm to make us more discoverable!

https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/dieku-games/fang-dungeon-bestiary

Also, a reminder for those sitting on the fence, if you back in the fist 48 hours, you'll get a free quick rules postcard which is a handy resource to have at your table for new players! (and it tucks nicely inside your core rules booklet)

Don't forget to also back Raspberry Juice, which is an adventure for Fängelsehåla designed by Omer Shapira, and is loosely based on the plot of a popular Israeli children’s storybook called “Mitz Petel” (raspberry juice in Hebrew).

If you back both projects, you will receive a Cross-Collaboration item of a jointly created 8-page digital activity book of ephemera that you would find in the back of comic books and kids magazines.

Thanks again for your support,

Garry
