Project FAQ
If you are a Patron of DMDave at the Gold or Platinum levels, you are entitled to book credits. Make sure to use the $1 Patron-only link shared on DMDave's Patron page. That will automatically get you the two remastered books. Then, at the end of the campaign, when the Pledge Manager opens, tack any additional add-ons you want to the campaign. After you've added on those items, contact us at [email protected]. So long as you have enough credits to cover the add-ons and shipping, we will manually discount your rewards so you don't get charged.
In the past we printed our books overseas. However, the uneven nature of overseas printing combined with higher tariffs has had us look toward print-on-demand services in the US and other markets. We primarily use Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. The turn around on these items is relatively quick, so we're able to ship almost as soon as the Pledge Manager closes. Of course, delays can happen. If delays do occur, we will make sure to update the page so you are aware of things.
We will offer refunds in a few instances and it's case by case. We only offer this before rewards are issued. However, we do not offer refunds once we begin sending out PDFs and shipping physical rewards. If something happens during shipping, send us images of the item, and we will ship you a new one or offer discounts. If an item disappears and there is a tracking notification that tells us it arrived at the destination we had in our system, we will not offer a refund, as we are not responsible for lost or stolen goods. However, we can offer to send you additional copies at a discount on a case-by-case basis.
We use two primary shipping methods. 1) In the US, our printer prints all the books and ships them to our fulfillment center in Norman, Oklahoma. We then ship the goods from there. You will be notified when the item ships. Typically, we ship via USPS Media Mail. 2) In the UK, Spain, Italy, Canada, France, and Germany, we send the books directly from our printer, Kindle Direct Publishing. This is a print-on-demand process, so we won't have tracking/dispatch numbers until the book is printed and sent, usually 2-3 days before it arrives. 3) We will ship directly from our US fulfillment center everywhere else and try to find the best prices possible. Note: shipping is not added until after the campaign ends and the Pledge Manager opens. The pledge manager opens when the first batch of PDFs is ready to ship. This ensures that we get the best possible shipping information we can.
The remastered books are 8.25" x 11" hardcover books, roughly the same size as a typical Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition hardcover book. The softcover books (Just Passing Through 3, 4, and 5) are "Osprey-sized", measuring 7.44" x 9.69". The remastered hardcover books have approximately 192 pages, whereas the original softcovers have 96.
For this campaign, we will use Kindle Direct Publishing (Amazon)'s print-on-demand service to print our books. Books shipped to customers in the US and areas outside of KDP's influence will be printed in the United States at Amazon's printing centers. Books shipped to customers in Canada, the UK, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany will be printed in their respective countries via Amazon.
You can reach out to myself or our customer service manager, Aubrey, at [email protected]. If you post a comment or reply, we might not immediately see it, so be sure to contact us via email.
For retailers, we're offering 45% off all orders of $200 or more. Reach out to us at [email protected] if you're interested in purchasing our books wholesale.
These books are already written and were set to be published anyway. Therefore, it's not creating any extra work beyond the shipping, which is done by the DMDave staff in Norman, Oklahoma, and Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. This allows me to continue to focus on the other campaigns we have live.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
