What Are We Doing Here?

This is an absolutely ridiculous project: a LitRPG romantasy novel and the TTRPG system written for it. In one campaign. Because we're ambitious.

Weaver's Vintage is the novel, about two women caught up in a mystery, trying to solve - or resolve - a curse before it catches them up in its coils of dark magic and not-so-happily-ever-after.

Jazz is a narrative-driven TTRPG (tabletop roleplaying game) system, designed and written to run the story of Weaver's Vintage - and any number of other stories, too.

What we're doing here? Well. We're telling stories - stories about hope, and danger, and things that might just work out. Stories about existential terror and courage in the face of it. Stories about the people we all might want to be.

Weaver's Vintage

Meet Jean, a weaver-witch trying to build a future independent of her family, and Lucy - a woman cursed into the form of a vintage nightgown, who keeps turning up in Jean's vintage clothing store. A suspicious death from the past and a bored vampire serve to draw the two of them together, sparking unexpected heat as they investigate the centuries-old mystery at the heart of Lucy's curse.

Weaver's Vintage is a sapphic romantasy LitRPG novel set in the small, Eastern European town of Astenovica in a fantastical version of the 1920s - an era of individualism and social liberation, where society's elite could let down their hair and party with the paranormal, the supernatural, and the occult. Or at least co-exist mostly in peace, until the agents of the Imperium involve themselves.

Astenovica is a regular, run-of-the-mill small town, with salacious gossip, bored townsfolk, and a vampire lord in the castle on the hill who is the victim of repeated theft and vandalism, as something about his castle seems to attract unsuspecting ingenues to arrive, and then abscond into the night - much to the quiet delight of the local businesses in town who resupply the castle with candles, silverware, and clothing. In turn, having the vampire there keeps the crime rate down, so it's proving to be quite a good working relationship. And then things go pear-shaped, and there's a mystery to be solved.

Jazz

Jazz is the TTRPG ruleset inspired by the story and setting of Weaver's Vintage - it is a light-weight, flexible and narrative driven system based on the Carved From Brindlewood mystery mechanics created by Jason Cordova of The Gauntlet, and the Resistance Engine from Rowan Rook and Decard (created for the brilliant and much-awarded games Spire and Heart).

Character creation is quick but flexible, giving you the freedom to make the protagonists you want to tell stories about without bogging you down in hours of number-crunching first. Player agency is central to the system, with players actively engaged in building out the world and the scenario as they play, bringing their connections to the world into the story.

Created with explicit rules for guided, collaborative or solo play, Jazz can be used to tell a multitude of stories, ranging from cosy fantasy and romantasy to perilous quests and dark, horror-tinged tales of the supernatural. Use it to create your own worlds with the power of make-believe, storytelling, and improvisation, or come and play in ours - Astenovica has a lot more stories to tell.

Stretch Goals

Normally, we would just stick to our main goal - a high quality print run of both Weaver's Vintage and the Jazz game rule book and Incident Book. Normally.

However... we have secured the enthusiastic agreement of our wonderful artist, Citadel, to make a graphic novel version of Weaver's Vintage for us. This is super exciting, and we would really love to be able to do it - but the graphic novel can only go ahead if we reach the funding stretch goal to pay for the work. So...

At $8,000 (AU) in Funding - GRAPHIC NOVEL of Chapters 1 & 2 of Weaver's Vintage

Dead God Rising Cross Collab

All That Jazz is excited to be cross-collaborating with Dead God Rising, a dark science fiction thriller set in the 32nd century.

Back this campaign (at any physical reward tier) and the Dead God Rising campaign before both campaigns end to receive a special, exclusive, free Drowned World postcard, and an exclusive Incident for use with the Jazz game that lets you play in the world of Dead God Rising! The postcard and Incident PDF will be added to backers' carts after the campaign ends.

If you enjoy the occult themes and dark shadows that lurk under Weaver's Vintage, and you'd like to support another incredible project, go check out Dead God Rising: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/seain-dunne/dead-god-rising

The Team

Danielle Linder is the author of six fantasy novels and several TTRPG books and supplements, including the successfully crowdfunded Yarthe campaign setting for 5E and Pathfinder, the Cats of Ulthar campaign for 5E and Shadowdark, and Revenant - the winner of Best PDF Only TTRPG for Australia 2025. She has been playing and running TTRPGs since she was eleven, and telling stories since well before that.

Michele Ong is a lifelong reader, writer, and creative technologist. She helps people make good choices with technology, writes about staying human in a tech-centred world, and hosts STEAM Powered, a podcast and YouTube channel sharing the stories of remarkable women in STEMM fields. She's partial to spies, the occult, and a good love story, and TTRPGs that favour narrativium over crunch.

Citadel is an extremely talented illustrator & concept artist, responsible for the cover art of Weaver's Vintage. They create characters and environments for games and books, as well as 2D animation and illustrations. Check out their portfolio here: https://citadelff.artstation.com

Shipping & Fulfillment

First, a note: The shipping disruptions caused by the various (and frequently changing) tariffs and the international conflicts in the Middle East, Ukraine, and elsewhere continue to affect shipping costs and timelines. Pricing and delivery schedules remain extremely volatile.

All shipping fees will be charged separately, AFTER the campaign, during pledge management. The prices below are estimates. Actual shipping prices will be determined after production is finished and we're gearing up to send out the books. Also, if you add-on additional physical copies of the novel or game to your order, your shipping cost may increase.

All That Jazz will be shipping all physical rewards from Australia, using Australia Post. Any VAT, tariffs, and customs fees are the responsibility of the recipient - we simply don't have the capacity to manage the constantly changing fees and requirements. Tariffs, if they apply at the time of shipping, will be included in the shipping cost.

Estimated shipping costs (for a single book, in $AU):

  • Within Australia: AU $20
  • New Zealand: AU $35
  • UK & Europe: AU $65
  • Canada: AU $60
  • USA: AU $60 + tariffs

If we do not offer shipping to your country you may consider backing at a digital or digital+ tier.

Delivery is expected to begin in Q4 2027.
