This Hidden Critter is called the Camuyan Pterotoad and it was incredibly hard to discover, as they live deep inside river caves. They are blind as a bat, and use bioluminescence to communicate and hunt.
The Camuyan Pterotoad is a bat-toad hybrid and was inspired by the Sapo Concho (Puerto Rican Crested Toad) and various species of Puerto Rican endemic bats. The name Camuyan comes from the Taíno word Camuy, which in some translations means sun (which is why it glows!) and it lives in river caves because of Las Cuevas de Camuy in Puerto Rico, one of the world's largest underground rivers!
