The world is changing.

A sickness plagues the land, the trees, the people. All dragonkind once understood the threat now emerging, but ages have past, and much wisdom has been lost. The ancient and the mighty cannot save this world. Their days have already begun to fade. But might alone has never sufficed to win the most important of battles.

Only love can hope to stand against the eternal night. Will Hiraeth, raised as a human, be able to grasp her power in time? Will Goliath learn that, strong as he is, he cannot stand alone? Foreword by the amazing Howard Lyon. An amazing illustrator and good friend, Howard Lyon and his wife Shari Lyon have been a creative anchor and support system for Kaitlund throughout this book's creation.

Once an artist always an artist, and once a creator always a creator. 

There are thousands of hours of creation bearing illustrations, both failed and successfull trailing behind me as an artist. Truly an uncountable amount of paper, pencils, and sketchbooks. If you ask my mother, I have been creating since I was just two years old. 

With my success as an illustrator, I have begun slowly growing my love for writing and world building again. It has been something that I haven't felt comfortable embracing. Yet, the stories keep coming with each new illustration, finding its own home in my growing mythology. 

As each illustration came to life, they found their home within the universe of my anthology. With Hiraeth being the very first. Her creation spurred the movement for the rest of the illustrations. She however, came with her own challenges. 

It took me a few years and several iterations to come to what is now known as Hiraeth.  Beginning around 2016, I began sketching a white dragon who's story I wanted to tell. Then a unicorn joined. A year after, came Goliath. Piecing the story together bit by bit as each new illustration was born in a concurrent creative stream. All the while my brain began crafting their stories. 

Now, came the difficult part. Writing. It is no easy feat, and as my first project if I tackled this alone I knew It would surely fall flat. To take the first big leap into writing/publishing I required some assistance. So I put out a call to arms for my creative campaign.

Two galant knights answered my summons. Here enters two amazing friends, Paul Genesse and Patrick Tracy. Both of these amazing authors joined the campaign. Tasked with wrangling the past decade of illustrations and vague ideas into a cohesive flash fiction anthology known as Drawn to Dragons. 

It wasn't easy but they came full force pulling out all the stops.  Paul, Patrick, and I hope you enjoy the ride with us as we bring this 10 year project to completion and launch my next creative journey. 

A young orphan, raised in the shadow of the draconic sky temple. She is looking for her place in the world. There is something inside her that sets her apart, something she seeks to understand.

A powerful young dragon, Goliath is just establishing his own lair. He struggles to find the best use for his great strength. The voices of his ancestors tell him that he can help save this world, but how?

A unicorn who has never found her dragon. Lythande waits in her glade, wondering if she will ever have the chance to fulfill her destiny.



Join these characters and many more as we explore the worlds of draconic gods. 

The magic of the world flows through every plant, tree, rock and creature, all except one, humans. It's transformative and unstable even within most mythical beings. Unless you are one of the Draconic gods. Amorphis and ever changing within each magical creature it is known to morph and change the bodies it inhabits against their will.

Draconic gods reign, keeping the peace and prosperity throughout the land. Able to harness magic, morph it and bend it to their will, they create sanctuaries for magic creatures. They are a dying breed, few gods left. No one knows why they are leaving the world, nor where they have gone.

Those who dare harm the creatures within these sanctuaries face the wrath of the Great Mother. The oldest and wisest goddess. She roams the land as a behemoth white dragon, until recently. She has vanished, her protection for the sanctuaries no longer deterring those who would do harm.

Magic, coveted for its supposed healing capabilities and dark magic wrought by the corruption of its nature is now there for the taking.

This is my biggest project to date. It requires new manufacturers, lots of moving parts, and ever changing graphics and setups. And a whole lot of layout. Even more than my Tarot Deck.

Projected to take at least a year. There are still several sketches I need to add to the layout and final tweaks and touch ups. It could take a year, or it could take two years.

With publishing, there are always hiccups and delays that are unforeseen and out of the creator's control. I hope you are willing to come along for the ride as this book comes to completion.  

The good news is that the stories have been written and edited. If all goes well, it could take less than a year, as I am projected to get an enormous block of time opening up after my convention season this year with only a single large scale commission on my docket.
