We see them as pests! We swat them, poison them, and do all we can to destroy them. But they are an indispensable part of the ecosystem and life on Earth!
The idea of the print was the same as this campaign: that we see these useful animals as pests, solely because they're in our way or because they are "ugly". Once my dad -who is also in the campaign(chopshopstore)- saw these, we instantly thought it would be a great idea to make multiple versions of this print. Once we solidified that, he started the project and introduced me to enamel pins. From there, multiple versions, multiple subjects, and all these beautiful enamel pins bloomed!

In nature, every creature has a vital job. They only become "pests" the moment they cross into our kitchens, gardens, or walls. This collection captures that exact tension in high-contrast, die-cast metal and hard enamel.

Millipede: Nature’s ultimate free exterminator outside, but inside… A terrifying night terror. Especially when it touches you! Gross!
Ant: In the wild, it is a master of soil architecture; indoors, it is a relentless raid leader on your kitchen counter.
Caterpillar: (hero image up top): Vital pollinator-in-waiting, for you… The leaf-munching menace ruining your garden.
Spider: Vilified arachnophobia, despite most being harmless, curious, and a stellar indoor micro-exterminator.

You Picked the 5th Pest!
We started with four, but followers selected the fifth creature to complete the main 5-pin set (maybe more for stretch?). Mosquitos? Cockroaches? Ticks? Another vote to come!
The pins are made of hard enamel and feature silver line work for structure. Although each pin varies slightly in measurements due to its shape, they are all designed to appear uniform at approximately 1.75 inches in size as a set.
In this campaign, the pins are offered at a 15% discount. Once funded and produced, they will be sold at their retail prices, with each pest pin priced at $9.
Although these pins are not very large, we want them to stay securely in place. Therefore, each pin will include a double-clasp back for added security, as shown below.

Arrival and fulfillment — sets should reach us in early-to-mid November, with backer orders going out as quickly as we can pack them
A note on holiday delivery: December should be no problem. Ocean freight and customs can sometimes throw up obstacles that are hard to predict. If you're buying this as a gift, back the project and, in the worst case, we'll send you a printable gift card with the artwork—just in case this takes weeks longer than we expect (which is unlikely).
