First off, thanks for that! While we do extensive copy-editing of all our games, some errors will always slip through the cracks. If you let us know before the books are sent to the printer, we can fix it! Please let us know about any errors or typos you find here: https://evilh.at/68-typos
We've taken the most reasonable steps to avoid whatever impacts we can directly influence. We're only printing in the U.S. and we're only delivering in the U.S. For over a decade we have worked with printers based in the U.S. That is not a political decision, it's simply a matter of practicality and preference. We tend to do (comparatively) small print runs, we try to deliver within fairly tight turnaround times, and we haven't found a need to produce our books overseas. However, that does not rule out other tariff-related consequences. Our printer might get slammed with new orders, increasing demand and raising prices. A supplier might use paper sourced from Canada or ink produced in China. These could cause unexpected price increases. Frankly the situation changes from week-to-week, which is an unhealthy state of affairs for any business. But if tariffs do create unmanageable expenses which we can't foresee and mitigate, we'll do our best to communicate the impact it will have on you. We'd love to give you a firm, reliable answer. Unfortunately we do not have firm or reliable leadership in place, so we're giving you our best guess. Might change next week, or in the next 90 days. We promise to keep you informed when these changes result in consequences that will directly affect you.
Yes! It's called prototype PDF which you should automatically receive once your pledge is made. If you missed the email, you can also get to the rewards by selecting the "Manage your pledge" link at the top of the campaign page. You'll also get access to Roll20 QuickStart module, so you can start playing online today!
The at-cost POD code is a coupon we give you to use on DriveThruRPG.com for their print-on-demand service. The cost of actually printing the book is NOT included in the price of the reward. It's "at-cost" in that we do not mark up the price of printing the on-demand copy over the base price DriveThruRPG charges to manufacture it. DriveThruRPG is a third-party partner of ours, they have overseas delivery options, and the quality is quite good. They offer two options for POD that would be suitable for Blades '68 - softcover standard color interior and hardcover standard color interior. The CURRENT, ESTIMATED at-cost price DriveThruRPG would charge for a 450-page 6" x 9" book is: Softcover, standard color interior - $21 plus shipping Hardcover, standard color interior - $26 plus shipping Please keep in mind these are estimates as of February 2, 2026 for a 450-page book. Six to eight months from now, as we get closer to actual fulfillment and issue the final rewards, the price obviously could be different. We do not have control over DriveThruRPG's manufacturing costs and there's a lot of economic chaos doing the devil's work out there.
Due to tariffs (and retaliatory measures), global shipping chaos, and the extraordinary amount of staff time it takes to calculate and apply customs fees for each country, we will only ship physical rewards from this campaign directly to US addresses. However, just like every major release Evil Hat publishes, Blades '68 will go into international distribution shortly after crowdfunding is fulfilled. We're happy to announce that we've made agreements with several overseas retailers where they take a pre-order from you and then they back the campaign and handle delivery of the rewards. If you live in the EU, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, see the EU/CAN/OZ/NZ shipping section for more details. Otherwise if you live outside the USA and don't have a retailer covering your country, you have several options to get Blades '68: First and foremost, you can back at the PDF level. You'll get the PDF as soon as it's available and having access to a POD code means you can avoid the worst of the extravagant shipping and customs fees you would incur if your books shipped from the US. This also gets you the many, MANY stretch goals we've unlocked. Second, wait for the books to go into public release. Overseas fans will be able to purchase the set at a much, much more reasonable price than we would charge to ship it and you can inspect the condition of the books at the point of purchase—an important consideration given that international shipping is not often kind to packages. If you are deeply invested in getting the physical rewards from this campaign, investigate using a freight forwarder. This is likely neither cheap nor will it shield you from tariff-induced chaos or customs fees, but it will provide a U.S. address we can ship to. Backers of previous campaigns have reported varied success with this, so be sure to do a diligent search and vet your vendors if you choose to go this route. We wish the situation were different, but we are one small company of six people and we're doing the best we can to manage our resources against global economic forces far outside our control. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

If you live in the EU, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, see the EU/CAN/OZ/NZ shipping section for more details. If you live outside the USA and don't have a retailer covering your country, you have several options to get Blades '68: 1) Back at the PDF tier. You'll get the PDF as soon as it's available and having access to a POD code means you can avoid the worst of the extravagant shipping and customs fees you would incur if your books shipped from the US. 2) Wait until the books reach your local retailer (online or neighborhood). We will release an allotment of the Limited Edition versions of Blades '68 to international distribution when the game goes into retail. This means you will have the opportunity to buy the Limited Edition book from your local game shop. Support your FLGS! Our PDF guarantee means that any time you buy one of our books new in a physical form, you get the PDF for free. Also, because you’re buying in-store, you can inspect the condition of the books at the point of purchase—an important consideration given that international shipping is not often kind to packages. 3) If you are deeply invested in getting the physical rewards from this campaign, investigate using a freight forwarder. This is likely neither cheap nor will it shield you from tariff-induced chaos or customs fees, but it will provide a U.S. address we can ship to. Again, we're frustrated we can't efficiently ship physical books directly to the doorstep of every single person around the world. We've tried in past projects and it has only created a huge investment of resources for our staff and a lot of expense for our overseas customers. The tariff situation has literally changed three times since this project was launched (12 days ago as of this writing)! We appreciate your patience and understanding. We strongly encourage you to support your FLGS, get the POD version, or use a freight forwarding service.
No. AI is theft built on the backs of everyday, working artists. We do not use it.

BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
