Project Update: From the Book Mines 18: One Land Left, Space Gets Tight, New PDF

Good Goldenagers,

Greeting this 12th of December. I hope you've had a nice week. Mine's been pretty busy.

Generating PDF

It's time to share a PDF with the Backers again (scroll all the way down for that), but let's do the weekly run-down first:

Phylake Towns and two examples

One of the features of the Circle Sea region are the strange settlements that have grown up around the various Phylakes and other grand old buildertech era facilities. Here's a few to sprinkle around and two specific ones from the Red Land (explaining why this spread is there).

Rust Eastcountry

A little bit on the remote, rural and ruderal reaches of the Red Land.

Orange Land's attitude to the sea.

A spread on the Shallow Sea, that den of pirates next to the Orange Land.

Upper Blue Lands locations.

Some nice places to visit in the Designation, the upper reaches of the Indigo River.

expanded and colored spot art

The Purple University which is also the temple of Violet Cathedra. The opposite page of the spread isn't done yet, so this is just a single page.

The Purple Factions and some dreamt-up local divinities.

A couple of times I didn't have the energy (or sleep) to tackle the editing and assembling text, so I added art instead. Like that of Göthert Brim at right.

So hwere are we now?

The OGA book is very close to done now. I've got a couple of spreads still to wrap up for the Purple Land and a quarter page to art-up for the Green Land, but aside from that all the lands are ready for the editor. I've slotted the Omega Jubilee section back in ... and that leaves about 20–26 pages to brush into shape. The manuscript is still at 288 pages, so that means squeezing about ~40ish pages together into ~20. I'm pretty sure I know what's going to get left out at this point: I've already left out the Noösphere chapter, and the Near Void is probably also going to be its own thing. I want to add about 12 pages summarizing additional sublocations in each Land, but that might not make it, or become an appendix all its own if I have the space left. We shall see.

Anyway, no sense making hypotheticals—let's see where we are next week!

Hope you enjoy the PDF and wishing you a ha'-merry ha'-Christmas this 12.5th of December.
