From black hole ita bags, to personified lesser-known celestial bodies, and cosmically-themed carabiners - this campaign is here to shine some starlight onto some of the obscure celestial objects floating above our heads in the night sky~
Hello and welcome to my first ever ita bag campaign!! This is a big jump up from any of my previous pin-centric campaigns, but I'm fully confident that we can get this beauty funded.
BIG DISCLAIMER HERE THAT THE ABOVE PICTURED BAG IS A WIP SAMPLE - THE FINAL MATERIAL WILL BE A DIFFERENT LOOK (it SHOULD be a black glittery holographic. I will update with additional photos when they are available!)
This bag will measure 16" at its widest point, be roughly 4" deep, and 10" tall. The bag strap is meant to accommodate cross body or over the shoulder wear. The top window will be 12" wide and 5.5" tall at their largest points, and the bottom will be roughly 8" wide at the very top (tapering down with the curve) as well as 3" tall, measured down the middle. This section will be PERFECT for allllll the mini pins we unlock~
While the campaign was originally just going to focus on pins, the idea for this bag came to me and just would not leave so I decided, since it was space themed, I would make it our main base goal. This goal is going to be pretty hefty, since it has to account for the production of the bag, plus all related costs that come with helping the bag come to life (bag samples are very pricy in comparison to other merch samples, unfortunately).
The pins for this campaign will be a mix of larger, 3"-3.5" pins which will be paired with mini pins, and a whole lot of mini pin sets designed not only by myself, but also friends, other artists, and even my partner! Along with custom carabiners, space-themed bandages, and a potential 2nd ita bag colorway, there will be plenty of fun items to unlock this campaign.
SG 1 +$1500 ($5000) - Quasar & mini pin + 2 planet & star mini pin set
This pin will be complex but she will be GORGEOUS if I can pull her off. With two-toned metal, translucent enamel and diamond powder, plus (potentially) glow glitters scattered within, and a gorgeous opal powder body, this 3.5" pin will be stunning. The mini pin will be dark nickel metal with pearlescent details - this one will be a bit experimental, so some adjustments may be needed when it comes time to make the pin. The mini pin set will be Midnight Springs' design~! This design features glittery purple soft enamel, dark nickel metal and black screen printed designs.
SG 2 +$1350 ($6350) - Star carabiner (3 colorways) + 2 mini pin sets
This stretch goal will unlock THREE colorways of the star carabiner! Gold, silver, and dark nickel - if these are popular enough, more may become available. Rachel's mini pin design will be unlocked this stretch goal as well! These pins feature dyed metal, glow enamel, and four screen printed colors each.
SG 3 +$1100 ($7450) - j1407b + mini pin + 2 mini pin set
I felt like rainbow metal with a mixture of translucent blacks and bright white enamel could really steal the show here - I am considering either glow, or pearlescent soft enamel for the white body, but havent quite decided yet. The artist depiction of this celestial body was more neutral in color, but I require way too much flashiness for that lol. She will be around 3" in size! Her mini pin will be rainbow anodized metal with translucent black over half and quarter recessed details. Waxwing Cerorum's pin set will be unlocked this round as well - it features gold metal, with green and yellow screen printed details and green enamel!
SG 4 +$1350 ($8750) - oort cloud + mini pin + 2 mini pin set
This pin is either going to be dyed metal with screen & UV printing, or soft enamel with epoxy, as well as screen & UV printing. The mini pin will feature dyed metal, uv print, stained glass enamel with diamond dust and uv print inside, and screen printed details. Ian's pin set will be next in line - the details on this one will need some refining, but the same general vibe will remain - the glitchy lines and splatters will be UV printed over top of glittery enamel, and both pins will have chrome plated metal!
Sg 5 +$3000 ($11750) - ita bag alternate colorway + 2 mini pin sets
Our final stretch goal will introduce a NEW bag colorway - PASTEL RAINBOW! This will also unlock two more mini pin sets; Plum Duchess' as well as an additional mystery guest pin, to be revealed when unlocked~ This ita bag colorway will be the same glittery holographic/iridescent material, but in white; the insert will feature a pastel rainbow black hole, and pastel rainbow stitching. It will have the same interior pockets as before, but with a light colored inside.

This project is PACKED with freebie items - I want to emphasize that all freebies require backers to pledge for at least $15 worth of items. This means that add-ons only backers need to add at least that much to their cart (it DOES NOT have to be a pin; there are a lot of fun non-pin items you can add instead to qualify!), and any Starving Treat Fund backers do not qualify for freebies. This keychain will measure 3", and be made of a lovely glow acrylic - this matte, blue acrylic turns a beautiful bright teal-y blue color when the lights turn off!
This keychain will be done with GLOW acrylic - this matte, blue acrylic glows slightly teal when charged with light and the lights turn off!

Peets 'n' Beans
My first ever enamel pin series! These mini pins measured 1" tall and are available only as gacha pulls - this campaign was fully funded in less than 3 days and resulted in 20 unique pin designs.
Spooky Space
My second venture into enamel pins focused on 1.5" pins with a space horror theme! This campaign was funded in an hour, and all stretch goals fully funded within 24 hours. I also made my very first 3" pin - after sampling all of them, the Black Hole design just was NOT shining at 1.5", so I sized up :)

Popsicle Panic!
My largest collection of pins to date, this 37-pin collection features yet another grouping of pins utilizing the same mold, and a lot of fun, collectible popsicle designs!
Pastel Witchy
While I haven't had a chance to take full photos of these pins yet, and I am awaiting remakes of several designs, my most recent pin venture was a set of pastel witchy themed designs - with my largest, most complex design yet; a 3.75", 2 layered design titled Graveyard Witch.
I added on quite a few alternate colorways of many pins!

Keep in mind that the above timeline is subject to change if any problems occur, either in manufacturing, shipping, or personally/health wise on my end. I will be sure to communicate these slowdowns with you as they arise.

*These time frames are estimated, and may be earlier or later depending upon Backerkit and manufacturers. I will update all backers any time a major update altering these timelines occurs.
I am intentionally baking in a LOT of extra time, as this is my first ita bag campaign, as well as my first time doing carabiners, and so I will need extra time to sort through and grade everything. Also, if funded, I anticipate a larger than typical number of backers in order to hit the funding goals, and thus will need a lot more items to fulfill orders.
SHIPPING
See the chart below for estimated minimum shipping costs - keep in mind that these are only potential estimates, and not a guarantee, and are likely to increase rather than decrease. Shipping costs are charged after surveys are sent out and I have gathered your address, in the post-campaign survey.
You will have the opportunity to add on extra items in your post campaign survey. Add on items may come with additional shipping costs depending on the final weight of your order.
I will be shipping all orders through USPS Ground Advantage, or, if you have an exceptionally large order, potentially UPS, FedEx or DHL.
Only UK orders greater than 135£ will be fulfilled. All others under this amount must be refunded due to VAT law. This allows me to ship your order without needing to calculate and pre-pay VAT prior to your package shipping. This does leave you responsible for paying customs/VAT upon receipt of your package.
I WILL be able to ship to the EU this campaign! While I am a little nervous to jump into something like this, I've decided to give it a go, with the help of a nexus company to allow me to navigate their new packaging & materials laws legally. I do ask that any of you EU folks out there bear with me as I work through all of this - it may take a little time for me to ensure I'm all set up and all rules are being followed!
Pay over time worked very well for my last campaign, so it is available yet again for this one!
If your pledge is over $150, after you select a pledge and go to Checkout, you'll be given the option to pay 4 equal interest-free monthly installments of your pledge total over the course of 4 months.
If you select Pay Over Time, you acknowledge that:
Your rewards will not qualify for shipment until you have paid in full. Pay over time typically takes 16 weeks, depending on the service (1 monthly payment); due to the nature of pin production, however, it is likely that shipping will not have begun until that point.
You understand that any partial payments made are not eligible for a refund.
You understand that you will not be able to access the pledge manager survey until after you have paid in full.
My pins come in 2 grades - A/Standard grade, and seconds/B grade
A/Standard Grade pins have a few extremely minor flaws that can be seen up close, but flaws cannot be distinguished from 2+ feet away. Those flaws may include low enamel, specks or scratches in enamel, specks or scratches in the metal plating, slightly miscolored enamel, slightly flawed printing, and the like. These pins are ideal for display where they may be open to the elements (on an uncovered ita bag, a backpack, a lanyard, a lapel or other clothing item, etc.)
Seconds grade pins are ones with noticeable flaws even at a distance. These may include flaws like holes/craters in the enamel (caused by bubbles that were polished down), large or dark specks in the enamel or metal, very significantly low or missing enamel, smeared or very uneven printing, overflowed enamel, really deep scratches in the enamel, visible metal behind glitter. When I sell seconds grade pins at conventions, people usually do not care about the flaws and happily purchase them anyway. These pins are a good option for someone on a budget who still wants to add to their pin collection and may not care about imperfections and larger flaws.
Ita Bags will feature similar grading standards; visible and irreversible dents/scratches in leather or the pin window, hardware damage, poor stitching, sloppy workmanship, staining of any leather/fabric spots, and other visible flaws or defects will notate a bag as a b grade. These will be available for purchase at a discounted rate post-campaign in my own personal store. As this is my first time grading bags, I will be updating this list with the possible flaws that crop up as they do so.
If you are familiar with Kickstarter, Backerkit functions in a very similar way!
While this campaign is live, you can pledge to any open ledge level - at the time of pledging, your payment method will not be charged. Backerkit is an all or nothing platform, which means that you will only be charged if the base goal is funded. If the base goal is not funded, the pins will not be made, and you will not be charged.
Once the campaign ends you will be charged for the cost of your pledge level only (shipping costs are paid later within your survey). Roughly 2 weeks after the campaign ends, you will receive a BackerKit survey to choose your designs, pay shipping fees, and add your shipping address. In your survey, there will be an add-ons section where you can add extra items, such as stickers, pins, lanyards, stretch goal pins, and more.

DESIGN
My design photos are only mockups - due to the differences in how screens display color, there may be slight differences in what you see on the screen vs. how the pins will look in person. Rest assured I will do my best to ensure the finished result is accurate.
There may also be minor design changes as required by the manufacturer. Any major changes will be explained to backers before they are made.
Glitters, translucent enamel, and metal plating colors may vary on the physical product.
Ita bag photos, while photos of the real product, may not accurately convey colors due to the nature of phone and computer screens. I will do my best to photograph everything in neutral lighting & ensure the images look as true to life as possible.
PRODUCTION
You may not know, but pin-making is still largely done by people, and not machines. Due to this, human error is a possibility. All backers of this campaign will receive standard grade pins - for more information on pin grading, please see the section on pin grading.
While I did my best to account for buffers in between steps on the timeline, there is always a chance for production delays, delays in shipping, or unforeseen life events which might push back my own timeline for grading and fulfilling pledges. I will do my best to communicate any setbacks or delays.
As this is my first ita bag campaign, there will very likely be growing pains as I go through the manufacturing process. These bags are all largely handmade as well, and as such, will be graded similarly to pins. All backers will receive standard grade bags.
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Refunds and cancellations are not accepted after your payment has been processed. If you have extenuating circumstances, please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate you. Chronic cancellations will result in being barred from future pledges on my campaigns.
If you do not fill out your survey within 60 days of receiving it, your pledge will be assumed as a donation.
If a chargeback is filed and the name matches the individual filing the chargeback, you will not be accepted as a backer for any future projects, and may be barred from purchasing items in my storefront.
If you pledge to a custom tier which requires input from you at any point post-campaign, similar to not filling out a survey, if within 60 days post-campaign you do not respond to requests for information, photos, etc. for the custom item, that portion of your pledge will be considered a donation.
By collecting your pledge at the end of this campaign, it is assumed that you have read and fully understood everything outlined above, including any risks associated with the process, policies, conditions and estimated timelines.
The cost breakdown for this project is going to be a bit different from previous projects. Due to the size of the bags, and the fact that they are going to be this project's titular item, I am going to need to bake into the project the cost of new boxes large enough to hold them. On top of this, the carabiners being new items will also require additional consideration in terms of packaging. For this reason, I will be allocating funds a bit differently to account for the additional packaging needs.
65% covers manufacturing cost of: Ita bags, plus additional straps & inserts; enamel pins (likely from two different manufacturers, due to the larger pins' complexity and my need to a manu that can handle that), carabiners, and extras (freebies, stickers, other merch designed for this campaign), 10% to account for the cost of shipping pins from my manu to me, 10% to cover stripe & Backerkit's fees, and 15% to cover supplies to get pins and merchandise to backers (new, larger boxes, additional mailers, bubble wrap, backing cards, packaging for carabiners, shipping labels etc.)
