It has come to my attention that some copies of Free Spirit have a technical issue. I wasn't aware of this sooner because I have been employing my oldest two children (teens love to earn their own money!) to card up some of the pins after I look them over and they didn't know that this wasn't intended.
The posts on the back of this pin are VERY close because this is a very small pin for two posts, but I had them produced with two posts because I HATE when my pins with single posts spin...
While they CAN just be a snug fit, it seems that many of them are a BIT too close, resulting in the rubber backing to not sit cleanly, and instead slightly overlap.
If this is a problem for you, I have two different potential suggestions.
The first involves scissors and should only be done with the utmost care and safety. Use the scissors to trim one side of one of the backings. PLEASE take care to not cut your fingers!
The result looks a little goofy, but it just as secure as the regular rubber backs.
An alternative would be to use spring-locking backs (if you own any), as these seem to fit JUST right with no overlapping.
As for me, I think in the future I will either need to make pins slightly bigger, or with a single post if I really want them to be that small.
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
