On the shores of the expansive Underflow, is the Hobgoblin Market boom town growing due to the discovery of strange creatures, like the truffalo and innovative inventions like the hob bow. Random tables, NPCs, gear, and creatures you can drop into your next game. All spiced with a weird west twist.
Below the sunlit surface world is a place of permanent twilight filled with strange lairs and sunless cities. Here the rules are different and adventurers who stood tall above may find it wiser to be more humble down here. Connecting much of this region is a grand subterrain river, the Underflow, which winds its way in the dark and many call this realm by the same name.
On the banks of this river, the Hobgoblin Market has become a boom town in the last few years. Expanding far from the Underflow's banks, it has become a proper subsurface town and has drawn the eyes of the Elder Folk and the Sunless Kingdom. Beyond the market's mercantile growth, a confluence of two events have put the Hobgoblin Market on the map. The discovery of the truffalo fungus and the invention of the hobgoblin crossbow.
A mobile mushrooms that can feed a family are now regularly herded into the market to be turned into foodstuffs and goods. One can make good money on a truffalo drive, ensuring enough of the critters survive being escorted through dungeons and environmental hazards.
Hob Bows
While a traditional bow has more range, this doesn’t mean as much in the cramped caverns of the Underflow. The one-handed, compact design of the Hobgoblin crossbows, or hob bow, make it a perfered weapon. And ability to fire several shots from a special attached quivery compared to a regular hand crossbow don't hurt either. A whole dueling culture has sprung up around it and now spreads out past the market.

As a twist, it also introduces a boom town Western atmosphere that GMs can embrace or ignore for their own megadungeon madness. The project only has one pledge and is only digital to keep things simple and easy!
The crowdfunding for this project is to help get more original art and content for this project. If the backerkit reaches its goal, there will be several original pieces in a 28 page PDF. The bigger the final budget, the more art and pages we'll add!
