Project Update: HIGH SCHOOL CTHULHU BACKER UPDATE: HALLOWEEN TREAT & FULFILLMENT CHALLENGES 🎃

Dear High School Cthulhu Backers,

Happy Halloween! We wanted to provide a special update today that includes both a fantastic treat for you and an honest report on the status of the fulfillment process.
Your Special Halloween Gift: The Halloween Party
To celebrate the season and to thank you for your incredible patience, we are thrilled to announce the official release of our special scenario: The Halloween Party!
This substantial adventure is the result of a collaboration between Gear Games and Coboldo Channel. The scenario is a thrilling blend of teen drama and cosmic horror, where your Students must face typical school rivalries and the most terrifying night Innsmouth has ever known.
At over 50 pages (drawing on the volume of content, e.g., detailed days, characters, and rituals found in the sources), this adventure is now available for purchase on our website. However, we have decided to give it to you, our dedicated backers, absolutely free. Please check your emails for details on how to download your copy immediately!

Fulfillment and Shipping Update
We must, unfortunately, address the ongoing challenges regarding the fulfillment of your physical rewards. We are experiencing significant shipping delays and setbacks, particularly those affecting US customs procedures and the management difficulties experienced by UPS.
These issues are, regrettably, caused by factors entirely outside of our control. We are aware that some backers have still not received their rewards, including packages that were shipped as far back as July. We are actively monitoring these complex situations and are deeply frustrated by the lack of timely solutions from our carriers and customs partners.
We chose this time to offer "The Halloween Party" as a token of our commitment and appreciation during this frustrating waiting period.

Support and Communication
We are committed to resolving these issues, but we require your cooperation on communication:
  1. If you have any specific concerns about your shipment or missing packages, please contact us ONLY via email at [email protected]. This remains the sole dedicated channel for all shipping-related inquiries.
  2. We pledge to resend any packages that are confirmed as dispersed or lost. However, we must wait for UPS to provide feedback regarding the unresolved customs situations that are currently pending before we can take action on affected packages.

I have had a ton of problems getting this delivered to me here in the US and thought I'd share my story in case anyone else is having the same problems so you might be able to skip a few of the steps I have had to take to get some answers. First off, I do want mention that Gear Games has been very helpful in this process. The problems all seem to have been with the shipping companies that handled the package and even more so, US customs. So, the package was initially shipped out from Italy back when all the other packages got shipped. Something happened and after a month of bouncing around it got shipped back to Gear Games. They sent the package off again on 9/10 and by 9/24 it was in the US and had cleared Customs. I just happened to check my tracking that day and saw that Trump's ridiculous tariffs were now in effect and I owed around 35 dollars in tariff fees. Seeing no other options, I logged into UPS's webpage and paid what was due, which now showed up as 29 dollars. On Saturday, 9/27, the UPS driver showed up at my house and said I owe Tariffs on the package. I explained to him that I already paid and even showed him the proof on the tracking info. He tried to scan the package and it still told him I owed money. He called his boss to try to get it released but his boss said there was no way to override it and it would have to move up the chain of command, but of course the higher ups arent working as late as their drivers and it wouldn't be able to be handled until the next business day 9/29. I was fine with that since it had already been well over a month at this point and the just happened to mention to his boss that the amount due was $490. I then stopped him and asked him to explain why I would owe $490 which he had zero answer to. Seeing as it was not his fault, all the blame falls on the shoulders of our terrible wannabe dictator president, I resolved to call UPS Monday after work and get this all straightened out. Monday came along and after work I called UPS. First off, there was a two hour wait, then when I finally got ahold of someone, they explained that they had no access to the customs info and that was all handled by the Brokerage department. Unfortunately the brokerage dept closes at 5:00 pm EST and it was well past that by the time I got ahold of someone. So I called the brokerage department today and sat on hold for another 2 hours. When I was finally connected it was quick work to find out that out of the $490 owed, $460 was warehouse fees. I asked what warehouse fees and why would I owe that and the rep had no explanation. He then told me that I could dispute the warehouse claims by sending an email to UPS and that should clear those off. The remaining $30 owed seemed to be the actual tariffs that I had already paid and he said they should mark those as paid after they clear the warehouse fees. So, i now await an email confirming everything is taken care of and hopefully I will be receiving my package soon. If anyone else is having similar issues as me, here is the Brokerage Department's phone number at UPS: 866-493-7140 ext 5 they are open 8-5 est mon-fri Anyway, sorry for the long post but I hope there is some useful info for anyone else out there who is dealing with the same issues. I really dread the dozens of crowdfunded games and books I've backed the last couple of years that are all starting to get close to fulfillment now. Hopefully they won't all be as difficult as this one
