Project Update: The Update You Have Been Waiting For

Realms of Kymoria Backers,

We owe you transparency, and we want to clearly explain why this project has been stalled for the past two years and what has now changed.

Since 2023, Realms of Kymoria: The Therapeutic Quickstart Kit for 5e has been unable to move into printing or fulfillment due to active litigation in Texas: Thomas v. Leyline Publishing, et al. During that time, we were legally advised and in some cases legally required  not to advance production, distribution, or commercial printing while intellectual property, ownership, and licensing claims were being actively litigated. Advancing the project during litigation could have placed the entire work and your backing at risk.

We can now share that the case has concluded, and we have prevailed. The court found no legal basis to prevent Leyline Publishing from holding or exercising its rights related to the project.

The Court granted summary judgment in favor of Leyline Publishing on all claims. In its public opinion, https://www.govinfo.gov/app/details/USCOURTS-txnd-3_24-cv-03061/context , the Court found that:

  • Leyline’s use, development, and marketing of Realms of Kymoria content was authorized under a valid licensing agreement.
  • There was no evidence that Leyline used or distributed content outside the scope of that agreement.
  • All invoiced work had been paid for, and the license remained enforceable.
  • Claims related to misuse of name, credit, or likeness were unsupported by evidence, as prior agreements and public representations explicitly contemplated creator credit.

In short, the Court affirmed that the project could not be halted or controlled through unsupported claims, and that Leyline Publishing holds the legal right to move forward.

We know this delay has been frustrating and the silence especially so. That silence was not indifference; it was caution. Our priority was ensuring that when Realms of Kymoria: The Therapeutic Quickstart Kit for 5e moved forward, it did so in a way that protected the project, its collaborators, and the trust you placed in us as backers.

What happens now?

With litigation resolved, we are actively restarting production planning. Over the coming weeks, we will:

  • Reconfirm manufacturing partners and timelines
  • Finalize print files and component specifications
  • Establish a clear fulfillment schedule
  • Share transparent milestones so you can track progress

We understand that trust is rebuilt through action. Our commitment now is consistent communication and steady forward movement.

Thank you for your patience, your belief in this project, and your willingness to stay with us through an unusually long and difficult chapter. We are grateful and we are moving forward.

More updates soon.

With appreciation,
Alicia Figliuolo
Co-Creator, Realms of Kymoria: The Therapeutic Quickstart Kit for 5e

Edit

I just got a message today saying they finally heard back from Geek Therapeutics. Geek Therapeutics said "We just had the case finalized and will be sending an update soon. We are just ensuring we have the correct wording overall." I figured since I heard something back I would post the update, and hopefully we hear from them soon.

I am pretty sure at this point we have all been scammed out of our money. I reached out to backer kit who cannot even get ahold of the creators. At this point I am fixing to start posting under all of geek therapeutics post to get my money back. I might also contact the board of counseling to report this fraud activity as well. This is not ethical nor should we allow for this to continue.

At this point have I just essentially help fund a legal case? Is there a way to dispute this or request a refund? Was very excited for this but it seems dead in the water at this point.
