3/4" Diameter CNC machined grade 5 titanium magnets with the Japanese seigaiha pattern machined and anodized in four matte sea themed colors. Powerful rare earth magnet bolted into the bottom for a robust beautiful magnet.
Seigaiha. The Japanese pattern of blue seas and waves. I've always admired this pattern and wanted to incorporate it on my lineup of magnet projects. A little over a year ago I made these in 1" diameter configurations, now they're back in a matte anodized wave pattern and 3/4" diameter!
These are 3/4" diameter CNC machined grade 5 titanium magnets that have a rare earth magnet bolted in from the bottom. A felt pad covers the magnet to help dampen the impact on the attracted surface. Engraved on top is a Seigaiha pattern which is then anodized in 4 different colors. Each magnet is hand sanded to a satin finish.
These I believe are just the right size to merge artwork and functionality as well as accessibility.
Left to right: Deep Blue, Aquamarine Blue, Reef Blue, Sea Aged Copper Blue
Deep Blue. It looks a bit purple in this photo but has more of a blue hue.
Aquamarine Blue
Reef Blue. This is the sort of beautiful blue that I sometimes see when I'm out free diving in 30-40 ft.
Sea Aged Copper Blue
Works great on refrigerators
Felt pad dampens and protects surfaces. Laser engraved with magnet information.
Powerful rare earth magnet 13 lb pull force (feels more like 3-5 lb, strong but not ridiculously strong, almost a nice balance between holding force and impact force)
Magnet is bolted in from the bottom making it easy to swap out in the event a new magnet is needed, or if you want to put something in besides a magnet
Adhesive felt pad protects surface magnet is used on
Satin hand sanded finish
Blue hues are anodized in 4 colors (Deep Blue, Aquamarine Blue, Reef Blue, Sea Aged Copper Blue)
September 2024 - Conceive the project idea. November 2024 - Make prototypes. Make a small production batch to work out kinks. Design project. April 2025 - Launch project. Begin production. Begin fulfillment. May 2025 - Continue fulfillment. June 2025 - I don't think it will take this long, but finish fulfillment.
