When Genghis Dickens invented the hexagon in 1499, little did he realise the impact his invention would have on the TurnipTop Role Playing scene. Fast forward 26 and three-quarter years and its influence is everywhere. To celebrate Genghis's marvellous achievement, here's a pamhplezine bringing the power of hex technology to your tabletop!
This fantastic art is by Carlos Castilho- good man, great artist
This a5 sized zine will include a series of encounters, adventures, dynamic rollable tables and a campaign- all ready to drop into your current game. It will be printed in B&W with nice hexmaps (obvs) and lovely line art. Need a journey downriver? There's a hex for that! Need to generate an entire glacial landscape quickly? There's a hex for that! Need to chase your players with wolves? There's a hex for that! Need a heist? There's a hex for that!
This zine is system agnostic and rules light, ready to drop into your game with ease.
This a5 zine will include:
6 pointcrawl adventures
6 hexflower dynamic rollable tables
6 hexy hex based encounters ready to drop into your adventure
6 actual hexes with which to curse your players
1 hexcrawl to unite these elements into one big adventure!
Slow down old timer, explain this new technology. Pointcrawl?
The Pointcrawl- this like a hexcrawl only without the admin. It shrinks the journey down to series of interlinked points on hexmap and abstracts the journey between those points. As a DM, you are free to add random encounters between those points, make roleplay moments or handwave the boring stuff as befits your style. See below here for an example of a point crawl that will feature in the zine. Others in the zine will include the Hibiscus Monk's Open Garden tour, the King's Whim annual Point crawl Pub Crawl and the Gargery Rapids you see below.
The magnificent art here on the tiles is done by Thomas Novosel
A hexflower is a dynamic rollable table with 'memory.' Rather than a rollable table that spits out results with no regard to narrative coherence, a hexflower gives you outcomes that feel logical and cumulative. It came to my attention via this blogpost by the Goblin's Henchman. In turn, he credits Daniel Sell and his blog with the idea. All praises due to them; support them if you can here and here.
The cool thing about these little tables is that they even work solo. You can use them to generate ideas for encounters, adventures, even whole landscapes and journies.
In this zine, you will find hexflowers to generate: a chase by wolves; a forest fire; the progression of a plague through a city; even a glacial landscape to traverse.
The art on the tiles here is also by Thomas Novosel, the icons come from the The Noun Project.
Easy there, stud. There are 6 (get it?) encounters you can drop into your game. Moments for when you need something to take up a session or half a session or to answer a specific need. This zine will include an escape from a treetop kingdom, a buzzy vault heist and a hexciting Mad Max race scenario! All the maps will be in the zine but also supplied as digital files (player and DM facing versions) with every pledge.
Oh yeah! It wouldn't be the GGP if we didn't bring a little rock and roll flavour. The zine will also include actual hexes! We'll be offering you the opportunity to name a classic track and watch us magic it into a hex to curse your players with. Simply join our discord (https://discord.gg/f73zcjCHEN) and get in the chat for a chance to get your suggestion in the zine!
If you insist! Check out our previous work below. Add them onto your pledge now for that extra surge of seratonin that only online shopping in late stage capitalism can provide. Keep on rockin' in the free world!
What do you get when you cross a Ramen Sandwich and a Greedy Gorgon? A very angry bowl of pasta! That's right, for this project we are teaming up with Ramen Sandwich Press to offer you 30% off their most excellent and infamous work. It should complement our hexy travel vibe quite nicely- get it here. In order to access this offer, simply back our thing and their thing. And I'll tell you what, back both AND we'll give you 50% off my last adventure, The Body of a Wizard! See it here. https://www.ramensandwich.com/random-encounters
I have small children and a whole other 'life' that necessitates maintenance so I want to give myself plenty of time to deliver this in a timely fashion. Below find such a timeline. I'm setting myself the goal of having this zine for sale in person at the UK Games Expo '26 and that can't happen till I've delivered it to you. So there.

This is my sixth crowdfunded TTRPG zine project. All were early or on time bar the last one which was a few months late due to delays with art and layout (normal stuff!). This was communicated clearly and in advance to backers. This time I will give myself plenty of time to deliver on time. Given there is a printed, postal element to this project, the usual suspects may offer cause for delay- printers and postage. The art is all paid for and made by humans. I will do the layout myself so any delays there are my own fault!
We are a platonic love triangle of TTRPG enthusiasts dedicated to bringing a little more rock and roll to your RPG romps. We bring a touch of barbaric rage against the machine, a hint of Megadeth-saving rolls and a smattering of AC/DC to your, well, AC and DC.
We are a little done with the humble stuff these days so we’re just gonna say it. We write the best adventures you’ll read. They are funny, they sound bloody cool read out loud and they can hit the feels too.
Or better yet, check out our podcast and hear for yourself. It's on Spotify, Apple and Youtube.
