You could also try a city-focused campaign set in the capital city of Aldis, engaging in diplomacy or other intrigues on behalf of the Queen, or attending the Royal College to study history, law, philosophy, or the arcane arts. Or maybe open a cozy cafe and inn for travelers, where you and your psychic animal companion gather and pass along the news from visiting humans, vata, night people, seafolk, or other rhydan.
