We’re Head On Fire Comics, an independent comic studio based in Berlin. Our goal is to craft stories that reignite that childhood excitement of reading your favourite book and to create artworks that pulls you deep into another world and make it part of your own.
You’re sitting by the window, a warm cup of coffee in hand, wrapped in a warm blanket. The soft sound of rain calming you down, dimming the daylight on what was meant to be a sunny day. Outside, people hurry through the rain, trying to make it home, while you read about a slightly shady guy who’s been hired by a tabloid to take on what he likes to call some “semi-legal” contract work.
As he makes his way through the rainy city streets, his mind drifts to the warm bed waiting for him at home. He’s not exactly in the mood to work, but money doesn’t just come knocking on the door. If only it did…
Sam Hawthorne is an intriguing graphic novel about a guy with reliable but unpractical business methods. If you don’t ask about it, he won’t lie to you.
In this case, Sam is looking into the disappearance of a journalist who vanished while investigating corrupt officials. But soon, he discovers the guy staged the whole thing. Reluctantly, Sam teams up with him… he’s not thrilled, but a hefty paycheck has a way of changing his mind.
All in all this comic series is a noir crime story where everyone is playing dirty and a very questionable main character.
