Hello! My name is Marnie and I'm a Canadian artist & designer from Vancouver Island. You may know me from my previous Flower Power Bag Kickstarter! I've always had an immense admiration for plush, and having the opportunity to design my own has been a dream come true ♡I'm so excited to launch my first-ever plush campaign on Backerkit!
Melon & Pan will have special early bird pricing for the first 24hrs, and for the remainder of the campaign at an exclusive discounted price. Funds from the campaign will go to production, toy safety testing, additional rewards, and packaging supplies.
Melon and Pan are little bear brothers who love to have fun and get into mischief! Melon is a bright green honeydew bear, while Pan is a perfectly baked melonpan bun. Even though they both tend to be troublemakers, Melon is a bit more sensible (being the older brother and all), and wears a sophisticated green bowtie. On the other hand, Pan is rambunctious and carefree, and doesn't let his small size stop him from having grand adventures!
Melon is a 6.5" x 4.5" plush made of soft minky fabric with a weighted beanie bottom. He features lots of embroidery details, a melon stem on his head, and a handsome green bowtie.
Please note: For the final version, the crosshatch embroidery will be made with satin stitch (thicker and more defined) to match the Pan plush better! His bowtie will be made a darker shade of green closer to what's pictured in his illustrations (more details below).
Pan is a small 4.25" x 4" plush keychain made of soft minky fabric, and comes with weighted beanie bottom just like Melon! This little guy has lots of embroidery details and a strong fabric loop for a keychain attachment (included).
Please note: The gold metal keychain attachment may look slightly different than what's pictured based on what my manufacturer can provide.
As mentioned above, slight changes will be made to Melon to improve his overall design before mass production. Melon will feature satin stitch crosshatching to match Pan, and a darker green bowtie. Melon & Pan will also come with a matching soft ribbon tag sewn into their bottom.
If the main goal of $3,500 CAD is exceeded, the following items will unlock with each stretch goal! Pledging early helps unlock these items faster ♡ Some items will come free with select pledge levels
Backerkit is a pledge now - pay later system, which means you will only be charged if we can reach the $3,500 CAD goal before the campaign ends. Pledging early helps fund the main goal faster, and unlock stretch goalsquickly if we exceed the original funding! You will also receive discounted pricing for pledging on Backerkit, as well as exclusive freebies like stickers (and more)! You can edit your or cancel your pledge at any time while the campaign is running, so you're always in control of how much you spend. You will only be charged once the funding is reached and the campaign ends. You will receive a survey shortly after to confirm your rewards and shipping details.
Shipping fees will be charged and collected after the campaign ends, and will include full tracked shipping. Any customs, duties, or tariffs owed will be the responsibility of the customer receiving the package, as these costs are determined by your country and are out of my control. The estimated fulfillment for this campaign is September 2025! This is an estimation and not a guarantee based on the production and shipping timeline given to me by my manufacturer, and my previous experience with large overseas orders. Fulfillment may begin earlier or later than estimated based on many factors. All updates regarding this will be posted here on Backerkit! ♡
I have worked with dozens of manufacturers overseas in the last 9 years, so I am confident any challenges will be dealt with in time to stay on track with the estimated fulfillment. Although this is my first time making plush toys, I have been working with the same manufacturer on these samples since March 2024, so I trust their quality and commitment to making the best plush possible! Aside from this, there are a few risks and challenges that may be out of my control:
• Actual product colours may vary from what is shown on your screen or monitor • Slight changes to the plush that do not alter the design may need to be made • Manufacturer delays (ie: factory shutdowns), and freight delays may occur and are out of my control, but will be communicated via Backerkit • Any fees incurred by customers receiving their pledges are out of my control and up to the recipient to pay • Once the campaign ends and funding has been collected, all sales will be final
