On behalf of the entire Horrible Guild team: THANK YOU very much for all the support you showed us during the campaign!
The MemoryCore journey has just begun. In the next coming months, we'll keep you posted regarding progress, keeping track of development, production and eventually fulfilment.
We'll also work on setting up the late pledge / pledge manager, so that we can gather your preferences and collect the necessary information for the credits to be added to CorePlayer! Magazine. This will likely go live in late Q3 2026.
While we're at it, we'd like to share this early sketch by illustrator Mattia Di Giovanni: he's the artist who worked on the Overdrive Crew characters, and he got so involved in the project that he's working on bonus art! We feel extremely lucky to have such dedicated artists onboard, as well as a fantastic, fast-growing community.
Speaking of community, if you want to take part in the conversation, make sure to join our Discord: Claudio will be there, sharing ideas and gathering feedback!
Sincerely,
The Horrible Guild Team
Thanks for staying with us until the very end of the campaign!
Yesterday you managed to unlock two stretch goals, securing additional content for both Final Tournament and Overdrive Crew:
In one hour, we'll start livestreaming 32-bit classics from our HQ!
Since we've enabled Overtime Mode, the campaign duration will extend for each last minute pledge or upgrade. We're going to keep on playing for as long as the campaign keeps going. Join the livestream to keep us company and help us spread the word: there's still a few stretch goals to be unlocked!

Just 24h left to the end of the campaign!
If you haven't made up your mind and joined 1300+ backers yet, you might want to check out these updates regarding the addition of the Demo Disc, the Remote Play Toolkit and 3rd Party License.
Speaking of the license, that stretch goal has also been unlocked! We look forward to seeing the game library grow with your contributions. The Discord channel is already brewing with ideas, so make sure to join the conversation.
Legendary Memory Cards have also been unlocked, which means that five games in the collection (all the ones featuring cards) will have one extra. Thanks for again helping spread the word.
Furthermore, results from the latest poll are in: We asked you to choose a familiar for Bloodsong, and you decided for with the Dancing Sword. This brave blade will have your back while you explore the Black Castle.
We still have one last poll up our sleeve, and it has everything to do with tomorrow: we'll be playing and streaming 32-bit classics from our HQ during the last hour of the campaign.
We'll play the most voted games from the poll below, so pick your favorites and enjoy the show!
You'll also determine how long we play: Overtime Mode will kick in after one hour of livestream, and each new pledge or upgrade will extend the duration of 10'. Help us reach the last stretch goals, and possibly prevent us from going back to our desks in the process, since we'll keep on playing for as long as the campaign is live 👏

Just a quick update from the torrid Italian weekend: The Remote Play Toolkit is now unlocked! In case you missed our previous updates, this toolkit addresses the no.1 request we received during the campaign from those of you who mostly play online. You can read more about it here.
The Remote Play Toolkit will be ShareAlike. It means you can legally share it with anyone you want, so nobody needs to buy a digital copy of MemoryCore to play with these tools.
Our priority for this first campaign is to create a solid foundation to make the project really shine in the long run. In the meantime, we want as many people as possible to play it, get a feel for it, and step into the world of MemoryCore. No digital pledge required. These tools are for everyone.
💿
The 3rd Party License is now on the horizon. Reaching this stretch goal will ensure we can dedicate our time and resources to evaluate your game proposals and, once approved, allow you to publish MemoryCore-compatible games.
Now, three things to keep in mind:
- You still have time until Monday to vote on the latest Bloodsong poll and decide which familiar will join the game's roster
- You're less than 10 social shares away from unlocking five Legendary Memory Cards!
- On Tuesday, we'll be streaming live from Horrible Guild HQ, playing 32-bit classics during the last minutes of the campaign. We'd love to properly thank you for supporting the project, so hit the notification bell to join us and help us push the campaign beyond the last stretch goals!
Also, stay hydrated!

You did it! The three one-shots in the Demo Disc (bundled with CorePlayer! Magazine) have been unlocked 🥳
Now that the polls are closed, we also have determined the game genres:
- ACTION PLATFORMER
- PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR
- MONSTER TAMING
If you want to join the brainstorming on these, hop on our Discord server: you'll find dedicated posts in the forum section of the MemoryCore channel for each of the three.
While we get closer to our next unlock (the Remote Play Toolkit), let's keep on working together to outline some aspects of the Anthology. This time, we revisit Bloodsong: Hunters of the Night.
The game will already feature a cast of Familiars to discover and bond with across your run. But one more is about to join the hunt, and that one is yours to choose. This is the bonus slot: the companion that makes it in because you wanted it there.
Three candidates have stepped forward. One earns a place at your side. The others… wait for another night.
- Dancing Sword: It needs no hand to wield it. Autonomous, elegant, unyielding — a blade that fights because it wants to.
- Fairy: Ancient magic in a small form. Don't be fooled by the wings. Fairies in this genre have seen things.
- Sacred bible: The written word as weapon. A tome that spins, strikes, and carries knowledge too dangerous to leave on a shelf.
Who will have your back in the darkest corners of the Black Castle?
Don't forget that you still have the chance to unlock Legendary Memory Cards! Help us spread the word and end our campaign with a bang 🎆

This is a dense update! Let's start from the Demo Disc: Psychological Horror was your choice in the latest poll, and as such it will be the genre of the second game in the Demo Disc (which is included in every copy of Coreplayer! Magazine).
• Dating Sims: inspired by Japanese classics such as Tokimeki Memorial. Build relationships, make difficult choices, survive awkward conversations, and maybe find true love before graduation.
💿💿💿
After unlocking the third game, we'll enter a new phase of the campaign: NEW GAME+. We've decided to show ALL remaining stretch goals. We're doing so because some of these address specific requests by the community.
REQUEST #1: WE WANT TO PLAY ONLINE
We've got you covered! The REMOTE PLAY TOOLKIT is a free online-play toolset that will ship with every game:
- Browser-based CHARACTER SHEETS for each title
- A DISCORD BOT that rolls the MemoryCore way (Top Die, Advantage, MULTI, Button Mashing)
- MEMORYCARDS, EXPLORATION MAP and GAME DISC, easy for everyone at the tab... err, in the browser tab, to consult and interact with
- GM QUICK-REFERENCE tools to keep sessions flowing
It isn't a full VTT. It's something simpler: open Discord, open a link, play. Press start, together, from anywhere.
This doesn't rule out a full VTT, but since porting the system and six games has a complexity that goes beyond a classic system port, its development is tied to the highest stretch goal. We truly hope you can help us hit it.
REQUEST #2: WE WANT TO PUBLISH MEMORYCORE-COMPATIBLE GAMES
Many of you have asked if it would be possible to publish your own games using the MemoryCore system. We listened, and today we're excited to introduce Powered By MemoryCore, Horrible Guild's official licensing program.
Every project will be individually reviewed by the Horrible Guild team to ensure it meets our quality standards and fits the spirit of MemoryCore. Approved projects will be officially licensed and recognized as part of the growing MemoryCore family. We can't wait to see what you'll create!
💿💿💿
Whew, that was a long update! If you have questions, ask in the comments or join us for the last live stream on Tuesday! We're going to be playing 32bit classics until the campaign ends; since we're using the Overtime feature, as long as you keep pledging we'll be glued to the TV and stretch goals will keep unlocking.

Engaged with this project 20+ times 🌟
Once the devs get late pledges up, let's push hard for those late pledges! We've gotta get those other stretch goals! A VTT would be so great for accessibility for those who can't play in person right away! As an added idea, I think it'd be awesome if we could possibly get a second demo disc with some of the others in the votes! Id love a Rythme game TTRPG, Skateboarding (or something like Jet Set Radio), plus more content is always a good thing! Feel free to share your own thoughts and ideas, and good luck guys!! Can't wait for the release of this project!! 💚
On Tuesday June 30, we'll be livestreaming from our HQ during the last hour of the campaign plus for the whole duration of Overtime Mode: as long as you keep pledging, we'll keep playing. Vote which games you want to see us play! We'll go through as many of the most voted ones as time allows.
Project Update: -2 hours! Two stretch goals unlocked, livestream starting soon
