PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: Deadweight v1.2
Hey everyone!
Sorry for the radio silence. I intended to be a lot more vocal throughout this campaign, but a bunch of unexpected IRL stuff went down right at the beginning of the month that required my attention. As these things tend to happen. So now that I have an evening to catch up, I wanted to express my sincerest gratitude to everyone who has followed the project, backed for rewards, retweeted and reposted. I've pulled countless all-nighters to make this game a reality, and the validation of seeing people's excitement for it truly means the world.
So with that sappiness out of the way, I'm delighted to announce that the digital version of Deadweight v1.2 is LIVE!
While the core concepts of the game are still very much the same, v1.2 introduces major additions and revisions, informed by playtesting and feedback of the original game. (shoutout to the playtesters!) If you're curious to see just how much changed in the new version, check out the devlog over on my itch.io page for a full breakdown. Spoiler: its A LOT.
I intend to get the core book printed at the same time as Splatterhouse, which I'll be slating time to write in April. I anticipate both being finalized, printed, and shipped by late Q2/early Q3. The core book will probably see some minor revisions in that time; like I said, this was a BIG update from the original version, so there's probably some small bits referring to outdated rule terms that I missed on my initial revision. But I wanted to have something to give backers in the meantime, so I have added the current version of Deadweight v1.2 to the itch.io page. If you have already backed the project here on BackerKit, you can download it for free using the link below.
Thank you all so much for supporting the game! Stay spooky. -Sean
