I have done several crowdfunding campaigns and worked on many creative projects but author-illustrating a book is by far one of the most challenging projects I have ever committed to. This story has been through so much and here you are, telling me that it deserves a spot on our shelves and in our classrooms. I can't even fathom that right now!! Is this really happening??
So much good can and will come out of this book and I am so, so grateful to have your support in pushing my career in this direction. Thank you for believing in me!! 🧡
Our next fiscal goal is $3,000!
If we reach this goal, we can order several hundred more books and give back to families and classrooms in Southeast San Diego, my neighborhood growing up. Oof, it was rough living out there but I have always wanted to give back in this way -- not just with donations (although I know that helps a whole lot!), but by being able to say that I can relate, and hopefully create meaningful relationships and interactions that leave us feeling empowered.
If we hit this goal, I'll be able to host book events and donate books to communities in need~
