Saffron, a human, works as a beantighe servant at Morrígan Academy, a high fey school in Alfidel. A changeling baby brought into the high fey world to work, he has spent his life learning to read and write in secret, stealing books to enjoy whenever he gets the chance. All he has ever wanted is a chance to walk Morrígan’s Grand Library, but his low status as a servant prohibits him entry. That is, until he’s accosted by a high fey lord in the woods one morning, who tries to trick him, inadvertently giving Saffron his true name—and who turns out to be the Prince of Alfidel, Cylvan dé Tuatha dé Danann. Making a deal with one another, Saffron is able to leverage the prince’s true name for access to the library.

Through their nights spent alone together, Saffron and Cylvan soon learn they have more in common than originally expected; their feelings for one another grow, as Cylvan’s own complicated past comes to oppose them. But Saffron wants to protect him—and in doing so, also protect the other humans he cares for. But even after the first foe is overcome, it quickly becomes clear they are not meant for such an easy happily-ever-after.

Saffron finally has the one thing he's always wanted: a chance to attend school. To be able to do so alongside Prince Cylvan, even while glamoured as a high fey and pretending not to know one another, Saffron is eager to finally experience the education he's always dreamed of.

But the expectations of being a perfect fey lord are suffocating enough, and are only made more difficult as the unfettered rowan magic in his body runs wild. Outside of the emotionally-charged nosebleeds that come whenever he's overwhelmed, he's able to keep the magic subdued--until one unfortunate confrontation outside of the school, where it manifests in the form of a nightmare he never thought he'd have to witness again. He desperately needs help understanding how to control his new magic, but there's only one person he knows who can offer mentorship: the stranger who appeared in his hospital room after the events on Ostara.

Between acting a high fey, pretending to be courted by Cylvan as strangers, the unexpected difficulties of attending school for the first time, and managing the ancient magic running wild in his veins, Saffron has no choice but to trust Ryder Kyteler who can skip through the veil with ease, and who has been gathering disenfranchised humans to teach them arid magic on the outskirts of Avren for years. Otherwise, the new, violent manifestation of Saffron's magic may hurt the people he cares about most.

For our first campaign, especially for the third audiobook in a series, we are keeping our offerings limited.
 

Currently our only stretch goal focus, VESSEL OF WOVEN NIGHT, at 190k words, would cost $6300 for Christian to narrate. Including the previously mentioned percentages for taxes and fees, we would be able to fund the volume 4 audiobook at $14,000 USD! Should this stretch goal fund, all backers at the $15+ donation tier will receive a copy of the VOWN audiobook subsequent from HOWM, once it is finished production, as well as other listed HOWM reward tiers.

Should the campaign exceed the $14,000 VOWN stretch goal, additional stretch goals will be considered and possibly implemented, including funding set-aside for future Rowan Blood audiobooks, funding for other Kellen Graves audiobooks, narrated bonus scenes, etc.

Although this is the first Kickstarter for the Graves household, Kellen and Mo have run multiple pre-order campaigns for books and merchandise through their Etsy shop and fulfilled almost 700 shop orders since 2022! They have also successfully fulfilled monthly physical ko-fi rewards in the form of exclusive art postcards since July 2023. They're both familiar with the production, fulfillment and logistics of pre-orders, products, books, and audiobooks. To avoid any possible overwhelm, they are also intentionally keeping physical offerings limited for this campaign to ensure as much attention as possible can be paid to the main digital rewards offered.

Risks include possible timeline delays, print rewards shipping delays, possible download issues, and so on, but said issues should all be minor and manageable.
