Post campaign update
🎖️ Good Morning, Marines!
The campaign has officially ended, the Backerkit train has reached its final station and MoshMo24 was a phenomenal success on all fronts for everyo...
As mentioned in the last update, we’re nearly at the finish line of writing, layout and art.
Art by Jod the Cod
Attached below in the backers section, you'll find the full adventure PDF (except Vehicles section, which is beign worked on right now - even when writing this update - to give that to you next update).
📖 Give It a Read
Read it, test it, criticize it, let me know of any typos I missed, etc. Any feedback is appreciated, any discussion valued :)
After this, I’ll be finishing layout for the last two pamphlets - one still needs cover art - and then everything will be ready.
I’ve started preparing files for print, and things are looking good so far. With the support from RV Games, who are leading me how to proceed with a ton of expertise. So I believe this will be the smooth part.
🌐 Project Recommendations
And now to some promo, there are two projects I really dig. None of them are Mothership, but both of them are awesome and from people I respect.
Pirate Borg – Ravaged by Storms
First is a mythic sandbox for Pirate Borg, Ravaged by Storms, and its phenomenal looking module (I had the pleasure to see some spreads and art and oh my Old One God….Its epic!) made by Golem Productions, who won the Cabin Fever jam by Limithron in adventure category.
Next one is Liminal Horror Deluxe. This is already established rpg with a ton of adventures and other stuff. Just check their Library!
And now they are putting out a Deluxe edition of their rules which looks sharp. And have some fantastic art from Zach Hazard Vaupen, from which I have the honor to have one piece also in my (ehm, OURS!) module.
Also worth checking out: If yo have craving for more Liminal Horror stuff, there are two more phenomenal looking campaigns running right now on Backerkit!
I missed the March update (my bad!), but this isn’t an April Fools' joke - just a shorter update before a proper one in a week or two.
🏴☠️ Krakenhund's Chaos Month
Sorry for the delay, but March was a hell of a ride...Not to bore you with the details, but here’s the highlight reel:
Moved 2,500 km
Drove 5,000 km
Changed jobs
Moved twice
Damaged my car, got it repaired
Started ordering and assembling IKEA furniture
My apartment stilllooks like a battlefield straight out of the module - maybe with less blood… just a bit.
We came from this to his in a week:
✍️ Editing? DONE! Layout? Almost!
Finaly my computer is set up and Main module layout is being finalized and will be sent in follow up update in PDF form. After that, I just need to finish two pamphlets and the vehicle stretch goal, then… PRINTING!
📖 IT’S HAPPENING!
Seeing this thing come together feels unreal. I even printed a rough version of the main module to check hot it looks printed and if its readable, and I love it - hope you will too! 😍 Video is attached.
So lets jump into another update to see where we are at!
WRITING DONE!
The writing is fully completed for the main manuscript, unlocked stretch goals, and the cross-collab pamphlet! (Okay, to be honest - one last table is missing, but aside from that, it’s all done!)
Now, I’m waiting for the editing process to fix my grammar and make everything more coherent. You wouldnt like to read my uncorrected texts :D
After that, I’ll start creating the PDF! I believe that by the end of April at the latest, you’ll have the full PDF in your hands.
GRENADES!
The grenades page is done - both the art and writing are complete! Here’s a preview for you to use in your games.
I designed them to be believable and useful in a variety of situations, beyond just bringing death and suffering to your enemies. So your group can use them creatively in different scenarios.
Try them out and let me know if you find them useful! There’s still time to adjust things - maybe they’re too powerful, maybe not enough. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
I came up with the 48-hour patch reward concept for this project (don’t worry, I’ll be polishing it more, this was just a first conncept we cooked together). You still have a chance to grab it, so go check it out!
Carson is a great guy who helped me a lot - especially in giving my sticker sheet, which is part of this project rewards, an awesome stitched look. He made this project look better ;-)
And when we were discussing ideas for the patch, I learned quite a bit about his project and it looks awesome. It sounds like a hell of a fun ride - don’t miss it!
This was supposed to be my original Cross-Collaboration partner for Mothership Month 2024, but sadly he didnt made the cut at the time.
This said - his writing is spot on, and the theme? You can guess why we were meant to be partners, right? His project is packed with military content that would perfectly pair with Operation Golden Cut. If you want to lean even harder into the military aspect of your missions, go check it out - you won’t regret it!
Two More RPG Projects to Share!
I have two favorite RPG systems (of course, there are more - there are always more... but these are my top two).
Mothership, my RPG love -> from 0e to now, it’s still my most played system.
Pirate Borg -> my first (but not last) Borg game. I love pirates, and this game is perfect for that.
Right now, there are two Pirate Borg crowdfunding campaigns running. Check them out - let’s help build a thriving PB third-party publisher community, just like Mothership has!
Zach is an awesome guy on the Pirate Borg Discord - always helping, sharing, and creating amazing content. His previous PB work has been superb, so I have high hopes for this project. I doubt it will not meet the high expectations! :)
This one is from one of the winners of the Cabin Fever jam (look it up—so much great content! I was also part of it with Rough Seas, if you're interested!). This will absolutely be worththe couple of bucks.
That’s All for Now!
Thanks for your time, your attention, and your support. Now get back to work, grunts!
I received and fully reviewed the first pass of my manuscript, and MeatCastle did one hell of a job! I really like what he changed and suggested, and now I’m finishing it based on his feedback. This will be done pretty soon, and then I can move on to layout and other work.
Layout Test
Speaking of layout, here are some examples of how it's probably going to look. I’m still tweaking things here and there, but the main visuals are in place. If you're a backer, you can download the example below in the update. Let me know what you think! I’m eager for your input so I can make it the best for you all.
More Art
Kvacm has finished the sector overview art I showed you last time. He’s now working on another piece, and two more artists—Zach Hazard Vaupen and Jod the Cod—are also working on commissions. I’m so stoked to have them on board! :)
The poll ended in a tie between "Dungeon" and "Location," so I needed another way to decide. Since I didn’t want to leave it to a coin toss, I chose "Location" because it was mentioned in the comments—meaning more engagement. So, I’m starting to work on it now.
More Mothership Projects Incoming!
Oh my, this game and its community never stop! I recently came across several really cool-looking projects that will be launching pretty soon. Check them out!
