WELCOME!

Welcome to Netherscape! A world of forgotten gods, buried truths, and stories waiting to be unearthed. Inside these pages you will find dark adventures, strange lands, dangerous relics, and the tools to bring new legends to your table. Tread carefully; Netherscape remembers and changes accordingly.

With each volume, Netherscape expands the world with a curated mix of locations, lore, and playable content. Across the series you will discover corrupted regions like the Nether and the cities that border them, relics both ancient and newly forged, twisted and uncorrupted monsters, forgotten spells with dangerous backlash, and new mechanics designed for low-level survival.

Volumes also include ready-to-run one-shot adventures, new character backgrounds, playable races, class options or archetypes, random encounter tables, ancient gods and corrupt entities, secretive organizations, linguistic lore from lost civilizations, new feats, and notable NPCs ready to enter your campaign.

No two volumes are identical, but each one brings new tools, stories, and dangers to your table.

What We Have

Art by Jeff Brown

Discover a fully detailed region tied to the mysteries of the Nether, complete with atmosphere, history hooks, notable sites, and story seeds. The location is designed to be immediately usable at the table, whether as a travel destination, campaign hub, or the starting point of a larger arc.

With each volume, we will expand Netherscape, you will see the landscape getting broader and broader with the connections getting revealed as the volumes gather around.

Jump straight into the setting with a ready-to-run campaign module built for smooth preparation and strong table pacing set in the realm of Nether. With each issue, the adventure continues. Therefore, please consider this issue as the perfect start of a long campaign. The adventure is a prison escape story; only the prison is Nether itself. Soon, the characters will realize that they are trapped inside an open-air, ever-changing prison, and a deadly one. Escaping is in their hands.

New character backgrounds rooted in life near the Nether. Each background offers story flavor, roleplay prompts, and mechanical benefits that connect characters directly to the setting’s dangers, cultures, and hidden histories.

A dedicated encounter table built specifically for the Nether and its surrounding lands. These encounters range from dangerous threats to strange discoveries and narrative events, helping GMs keep journeys tense, unpredictable, and alive.

As the Nether itself is ever-changing, the random encounters faced inside the Nether change each month. That's right! We will bring you a new random encounter table each month that works perfectly for Nether.

Recover ancient magic once wielded by a forgotten civilization. These spells carry unusual themes and narrative weight, allowing characters to touch powers that feel older, stranger, and more dangerous than common arcane knowledge.

Setting-specific mechanics designed to reinforce exploration, instability, and survival near the Nether. These rules add flavor without slowing gameplay, helping the environment itself become part of the adventure.

Introduce a new race shaped by the world’s history and conflicts. Built with strong lore foundations and balanced mechanics, this option lets players create characters who naturally belong in the setting from session one.

Face new creatures born from the Nether’s strange legacy. Each monster is built for strong table presence, unique abilities, and clear story integration, giving GMs enemies that feel tied to the setting rather than generic encounters.

Meet the divine, the forgotten, and the possibly corrupted powers tied to the region. This section introduces lore, motives, and plot hooks for gods, cults, or ancient beings whose influence still shapes the world.

Fragments of a lost civilization survive in scattered words, symbols, and linguistic clues. This lore page provides cultural insights, naming inspiration, and mysterious hints that GMs can weave into puzzles, relics, or worldbuilding.

Add Ons - Social Encounter Overhaul

In 5E, social encounters are often the weakest pillar of play. You prepare a villain’s backstory, plot political intrigue, or imagine high-stakes diplomacy, and then it all comes down to a single Persuasion check. Well... We wanted a truly immersive social experience; we wanted more!

The 5E Social Encounter Overhaul is our 75+ pages long answer. It's a full redesign of how social encounters work at the table, from player-driven tactics to immersive social tools for GMs, that keeps the drama alive and gives conversation real mechanical weight. This isn't about replacing roleplay. It’s about supporting it with mechanics that match the emotional tension of a swordfight.

Whether you're talking your way out of a prison cell or negotiating with a demon prince, this overhaul brings depth and choice to every interaction. We have "roleplay-first rules that don’t break immersion." Everything’s built for plug-and-play use in your existing campaign; no homebrew expertise is required. We designed this system not as a single block, but as a modular structure composed of 11 optional mechanics that can be attached or removed at will, allowing you to create diverse systems as you please.
