Project Update: The Cassandra Protocol stream and less than a week to go!
We only have six days to go until the end of Zinetopia! Shocking how quickly the time has passed. There are still two stretch goals that remain; can we hit them before the timer runs out? At β¬2.5K, I'll add 100 community copies to each of the core six games' itch.io pages when they go live, and at β¬3K, I'll commission an artist for some spot art pieces for the one-pagers that are as yet unfinished. :D
There are eight projects remaining in Zinetopia that have yet to be funded, and many of them are so close to their goals!
- How I Heard It - Campfire Storytelling Game by First Pancake Studios ($4,493 of $5,000)
- The Endtimes Trilogy by Adam Bell Games ($4,518 of $5,000)
- On Call by VJH Creations ($2,267 of $3,017)
- Three punk games by CΓ΄me Martin (β¬2,054 of β¬3,000)
- Dead Internet Theory, an adventure module for Cy-borg by David H. K. Jackson ($1,391 of $1,500)
- Your Diagnosis Comes With A Free Sword! by Connor Sansby (Β£640 of Β£5,000)
- Tales of Blood and Roses: Dangerous Games (issue no. 4) by Unpopular Publications ($1,042 of $1,100)
- Meet the Johnsons by iameurydice (C$520 of C$975)
I hope to see you in the chat for the cassandra protocol, and if not, I'll see y'all around! :D Let's smash through those stretch goals!

While many of the game themes have already been decided, part of the fun of this crowdfunding campaign is that YOU get to help decide the themes of some of the games! Take your pick from the options below and tell me what you'd like to see me write a game about. All of these are currently in vague concept form, but all will be multiplayer games!
Project Update: Some new stretch goals and a poll!
A couple of small updates for you:
- Since we blew past the two stretch goals I'd planned, I've chatted with fellow Zinetopia creators and come up with some new ones.
- At β¬2.5K, I will add 100 Community Copies of the Vol. 2 Bundle games to their Itch.io pages when they are published for those who can't otherwise afford to buy games! I love the idea of paying it forward, and community copies are a great way to do that. π
- At β¬3K, I will commission spot art for the as-yet-unnamed "rivals who are secretly in love" game, as well as for one other game. I'm talking to an artist friend about this right now, and I'm very excited about it!
- Next, it's poll time! Attached to this update, you'll see the first poll to decide on the theme of one of the games I'll be writing. Backers can still send in your memes, emojis, or weird concepts by commenting on any of these update posts (or tagging me on social media, not sure if BackerKit supports image comments!) I'll pick my favorites, and if there are enough, I'll put them to a poll as well for y'all to vote on!
That's all from me for now. Be sure to check out some of the other incredible projects and games that are on offer for Zinetopia. I admit, I've already backed 11 of them (though, you probably got emails about that. π)

Project Update: Project goal hit, and so close to the first stretch goal!
I'm so excited to say that not only did we hit the project's goal in less than four hours last night, but we're SO CLOSE to hitting that first stretch goal of an extra freebie digital one-pager for all backers!!
Thank you so much for all of your support on this project. I started writing one-pagers in December 2023, but it was really only in the past year or so that I started writing them more frequently. I've talked a bit about this on BlueSky (and in the EUphoria Discord server), but one of the things that I really love about one-page games is that they force me as a writer to really home in on what is most important for the game to enable a table to roleplay as these unique characters, whether they're cryptids, frogs, romcom protagonists, or something else entirely! And as players, you're given all the elements you need to create a story together around a table, but you don't need to spend hours preparing for a session or building your character, learning intensely detailed mechanics, and more.
Not only that, but one-pagers let you get really weird with themes and mechanics. Which is just plain delightful. π
I'm going to put out a poll in the next couple of days for our first backer-inspired one-pager, but feel free to leave a comment with your suggestions for what you would like to see written for this campaign! Games that are in the works or completed so far are:
- Mischief of Magpies β the game I wrote for the Zinetopia exclusive digital zine (for when you back 5+ projects)
- Early Bird β for those of you who back the project in the first 48 hours!
- Well, I Heard a Rumor β an improv game of rumors
- stichomancy β a game of divining the future through books on your shelf
- The Cassandra Protocol β a sci-fi solo journaling game where you are the only person aboard a spaceship who knows it is doomed, and no one believes you
- And a couple of as-yet-unnamed games, including the cryptid office worker game inspired by the project's cover art and a food-themed game for backers of both my project and TTRPGkids' Mystery Snacks!
With only β¬47 to go til we hit the first stretch goal, I think it's a good bet that we'll be hitting that soon. Send me your weird and quirky ideas, your moodboards and strings of emojis! I gain inspiration for these games from the oddest of places, and I'm excited to share that creative process with you!
Thank you again so much!
