Granica: Chapter 1

Space lanes between Earth and Mars are open! New Grand Central Station awaits!

New Grand Central Station awaits!

Ness, a computer engineer by trade, landed a tutoring gig in exchange for passage. The kids Ness is escorting belong to some Granica corpo, so they can afford an entire houseboat—just three people in a cylindrical apartment for eight weeks.

Ness even has a Granica brand TravelCat to keep them company on the trip. It should be a pretty easy couple of months, except for the gravy shock.

Sometimes you need to wear a space suit, even when you travel by house boat to Mars.

This would be an easy job, but Ness' cat is more than a stock TravelPet and there is a fourth person who knows a lot about space travel waiting for them when they arrive.
Who is this guy?! Ness doesn't know him.

What is Granica? Who will like this book?

Creator Brian "24 Hour Engineer" McEvoy is an avid writer in his free time and wrote Granica as an audio play in 2020. He enjoys sharing his creations with his friends, but unfortunately, one of his friends, Sarah, is a comic book creator, and sometimes utters those very dangerous words, "this could make a good comic..."

While this has happened before, this time, everyone got serious and decided to make it happen. Brian and Sarah worked together to adapt the play into a comic, then brought on artist Kelson Steele in his debut comic to bring the characters to life! Add in colors by the master of the trade, Fish Lee, and there you have it!

If you're curious about the original radio play, we've got some great news! We're offering tickets to a private livestream reading of the original script by the team as an add-on! The show will be on August 24, 2024 at 5 pm eastern. We had to cut out a LOT of fun little details to adapt it to comics form, so this should be a great time!

Who will like Granica?
If you like Cowboy Bebop, Red Dwarf, The Expanse, and maybe even Firefly, you'll probably enjoy this story!

Shipping - Sorry, We Do Not Ship to Mars

Shipping will be calculated after the campaign ends. We know this is a little annoying, but it's actually a good thing! We can get a much more accurate idea of the shipping cost after we get the books and merch, so we can charge you accurately. It's a win-win situation! Here's a chart to give you an idea of what you can expect to be charged:

Keep in mind that these are just estimates, but almost everyone is going to fall within these ranges, and probably on the lower end, unless you buy, like, a LOT of books. We'd be okay with that! Anyhoo, we will do our best to make sure you get the best shipping rate possible!
