How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

What's happening to the old Snuggle Paws shape?
We greatly appreciate so many people love the old Snuggle Paws shape! Due to manufacturing difficulties and feedback from customers wanting a bigger, more huggable size, we will not be remaking that shape. I am still very fond of my first original plush shape, and I'm happy it has brought comfort and joy to so many. Please be assured the new shape has been designed with more experience and research for the ultimate comfy and huggable friend! I am positive you'll love this shape too! I backed the Snug-Alongs: Series 2 plush backpacks. Can I combine campaigns?
The Snug-Alongs are in production! While we wait for them to be finished, we are working on the Snuggle Paws campaign. These will be in production while Snug-Alongs will begin to ship out to you. You will not be able to combine shipping between campaigns as the production and shipping dates will be many months apart.
Can I pick the color of the bandana that comes with my Snuggle Paws?
Sorry, the Snuggle Paws only come with the bandana as pictured and cannot be swapped or customized between characters! However, they are removeable, so once you receive them, you may customize them with your own bandana as you wish!
Can the old Snuggle Paws sweaters fit the new shape? Can clothes/accessories from other brands fit them?
The old sweaters do not fit! The new Snuggle Paws come with their own bandana accessories that WILL fit the old shape, though. We cannot endorse or guarantee that Build-a-Bear or other brands' clothes and/or accessories will fit the new Snuggle Paws. We recommend waiting until you receive your new friend to determine what can fit!
What fabric are Snuggle Paws and Lil Freekz made of?
Snuggle Paws are made of super-soft and smooth 2mm minky fabric! It is durable and washable and will not get scrunkly easily. The Lil Freekz are made of faux fur fabric. Snuggle Paws and Lil Freekz are made out of all brand new materials.
How do I choose my Snuggle Paws? Can I add more to my pledge?
After the campaign is over, a survey will be sent to your email that you can use to pick your chosen character/design. You can pledge for more items while the campaign is still active, and you can add additional items with your survey as well. If you only pledged via the preorder store, you do not receive a survey. You already picked your designs when pledging via the preorder store. Please note we cannot change what add-on items are available to purchase.
Can I purchase the individual Lil Freekz character that I want? Are they only being sold as blind bags?
Lil Freekz are only being sold as blind bags. We won't be selling characters individually. However, we know the feeling of wanting a specific design from a blind bag, so we will open a trading/selling/buying channel in our Discord server for our Lil Freekz! (Channel will go live closer to fulfillment.) Please make sure to read the rules first! Some buyers may sell opened designs on other websites, as well, but buying off these websites is at your own discretion.
I pledged during the campaign, and also ordered separately from the preorder store. Can I combine my pledge and my preorder store order?
We cannot combine campaign pledges, and preorder store orders. Please note you can add items to your pledge during the campaign, and when filling out your survey. We recommend adding items this way if you want everything in one shipment.
When can I expect my survey? How long do I have to fill it out?
Surveys are sent after the campaign has concluded. It is not instant, and surveys are sent out in a staggered manner (so someone may receive their survey before you do!) We will make an announcement to confirm when surveys are being sent out. If you only pledged via the preorder store, you do not receive a survey. You already picked your designs when pledging via the preorder store.
Can I buy Snuggle Paws after the campaign ends?
The best way to secure your Snuggle Paws is to support the campaign by pledging or ordering via the preorder store! There are no guarantees the Snuggle Paws will be available after the campaign.
When will you ship my Snuggle Paws? Will I get a tracking number?
We anticipate being able to begin shipping by March 2026, but we will continue to give updates during the production process! All orders will come with tracking! You will receive an email with your tracking number once your pledge has shipped. You can also confirm this information in your BackerKit account. Please note shipments will be done in batches, and are not “first come first served.” We appreciate your patience in advance!
I need to change my shipping address.
You are able to edit your shipping address via your survey at any time before shipment. You will receive a Final Notice email before we will lock shipping addresses. If you have difficulty updating your shipping address, please email [email protected].
Can I pay for my pledge in installments?

What is your refund/cancel/return policy?
There are no refunds or cancellations once you have committed to your pledge (once the campaign has ended) or placed an order on the preorder store. We will not accept returns, with the exception of receiving a defective item (ex. holes, popped seams, torn embroidery, missing parts such as ears or limbs, etc.) If you receive a defective product, please contact us within 7 days of receipt at [email protected] for assistance with a return/exchange.
