Wow!! What an end! We hit almost EXACTLY our goal big expansion pack stretch goal at the last minute!!! Let's look at what we unlocked, and what to expect going forward for Lava Run. Thank you so much.
If you missed our finale, we barely hit our 1000% funded stretch goal with our last 10 minutes! At this tier we unlocked a full expansion pack to go with our classic game! Now a lot of the art for this expansion is still being worked on, and I'll update you on details soon, but I can give you a little hint!
🌊 H2O-NO! - Lava Run Expansion Pack🌋
This water themed expansion to Lava Run adds 9 optional event tiles and 4 new playable dinosaurs to the classic game! These new tiles include catastrophic events to completely turn the tide of the game, like the Flood tile which makes everyone discard their lava, or the Hurricane to completely mix up the board!
It also includes 4 playable dinosaurs to the game, each with their own special ability! Draw in the competition with the musical Parasaurolophus, or escape to a safe square with the totally out of place Plesiosaur.
The list of tiles and dinos will be announced asap along with the art, once it's done! I'll keep you in the loop.
📅 Backer Timeline
Now that the campaign is over, it's time to get this in your hands! Here's the timeline and what to expect as a backer in the coming months:
November 2024 - Surveys - I'll be sending you a short survey to go through your pledges and add-ons. This will be your chance to your chance to choose customizations like pin types, and provide addresses for shipping.
February 2025 - Last Chance Changes - You'll have until around February to make changes to address while we wait for manufacturing to complete.
March 2025 - Fulfillment - It is my goal to get your orders our even sooner than this, but that all depends on shipping. Expect Lava Run arriving to your home by around March.
By the way, you can still pre-order Lava Run and even add-on some last minute goodies before we start fulfillment! Pre-orders will still be at the discounted backer price, but will not go towards further stretch goals.
As a final gift to thank you for your support, we've got one more collaboration dinosaur pattern as extra gifts for Lava Run backers and Club Crochet members! The adorably ferocious final addition is from the designer CuriousPapaya, aka Amy, who created this incredibly cuddly carnivorous cutie!
Woooooow, Lava Run literally JUST got funded and you're already itching for more? Well fine, I do have a secret I can share... our next project is titled Stitch'd: War You Can Craft! If you haven't heard of it, this is a game I've been working on for a long time, even before Lava Run, and I've always wanted to truly complete and expand it.
There's obviously a LOT more left to do for this project, so be ultra patient with me. I'll keep you updated of course, but I intend on doing this whole sha-bang again around the same time next year - Late 2025. I've learned a lot from this first amazing project and still have a lot more to learn, so I can't wait to make it even more grand with one of my favorite creations ever!

All game art is complete, the expansion pack is ready to go, the rule books are finalized, manufacturing is underway, and the game's shipping and survey timeline are clearer than ever (don't worry, we're still on track)!
Phew... there's a lot, but let's start with...
🎨 Art Updates! 🦖
The art for Lava Run is complete and manufacturing is underway! After playing many many many games on the prototype board, we made a few design changes to the box and art. Here's what's new:
Classic Game Updates:
Jump Tile - We received some feedback that the Jump tile art was slightly confusing, so we made it more obvious that it is an event tile, not a tile to play and leave on the board.
Board Change - We adjusted the board design in a few ways: 1) We made it more obvious where the finish line is, 2) we changed the logo at the top, and 3) we made it more clear where to add lava at the start of the game.
Rule Book Finalized - The classic rule book has been completed! Changes include more clarifications and some re-wording of rules, added Co-Op rules, and changing the book to be square so it will fit inside the volcano box better. No big rule changes besides adding in the Co-Op rules, but it looks so gooood, I'm really proud. You can find a preview of the final rule book here!
Updated Packaging - The inner box that stores dinos and tiles is now a lot easier to open, we also made some slight box art changes, but I'll keep that a secret for now.
New Sticker Sheet Added - Now the game comes with a sheet of stickers featuring the game art, from dinos to astroids, and some fun surprises!
🌊 H2O-NO! - Art is complete!! 🌋
I'm proud to say, the art and design are all complete for the full H2O-NO Expansion Pack! Extra special thanks to our artist, Dominic Rieniets, for whipping these up so quick! The expansion pack will be included as an optional upgrade with your game during the survey. Unfortunately, the packs were too expensive to include with every game, but I'm keeping the price low for anyone who originally backed the project. Here's what's included in the H2O-NO Expansion pack:
4 New Dinos - The Brontosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Plesiosaur, and Dilophosaurus are all new dinos to play with! Each dino has their own special ability as well.
9 New Event Tiles - New tiles like the Tsunami, Hurricane and Tornado give our dinos even more chaos and calamity to avoid as they run away from the volcano!
I'll fill you in with the expansion pack rules in future updates.
🗳️ Survey and Shipping Updates 🚚
Because we won't be ready for fulfillment until next year, we're waiting to send out the surveys until January/February. This is mostly because we're trying to find fulfillment centers in different countries to bring down costs, and it's best to gather survey info just before shipping.
So far, we've found fulfillment options with nearly half the estimated shipping cost for customers in Australia, New Zealand, England, and most of Europe! I'll keep you in the loop, but just know that if you live outside of the US, I'm looking for the best options possible for you!
The shipping timeline for Lava Run has not changed, it's just the survey timing that has changed. Expect this survey - which confirms your shipping address and any add-on purchases - around January/February.
