The Baron's Grip is a sandbox adventure for Mausritter set in a vibrant forest teeming with trade and development. The adventure revolves around the happenings in the town of Boroden, where the vile badger Baron Marfont has seized power from the local mice. With his gang of Henchrats, he has been taxing and extorting pips and food from the townsfolk, and he has his wicked heart set on expanding his control to the entirety of Willowshade Forest.

However, an underground resistance movement is growing. Mice that would see The Baron and his cronies run out of Boroden and Willowshade Forest for good. It is here that the players begin, setting out into the forest, visiting other settlements, exploring adventuring sites, and delving into dungeons to build the strength they need to free their home from The Baron's Grip!

What's Inside?

  • A 19-hex map of Willowshade Forest. Every hex has its own description, encounters table, and points of interest.

  • 6 full adventuring sites, each with their own characters, creatures, and stories, ranging in size from the 11 caverns of Doorway Cave to the 60+ rooms of Barndowne, the biggest dungeon in the forest. Each location has its own creatures, treasures, and encounters for your players to experience.

  • 5 settlements, from the tiny hamlet of Ashnook to the bustling city of Blue Bird.

  • A host of factions and NPCs for your players to interact with, engage with, and influence in their quest to free their home.

The Book

The campaign will be presented in an A5-sized, softcover book. At 100+ pages, it will be bound using a section-sewn binding, allowing it to lay flat on the table without being held in place.

The book will also have flaps on both the front and back covers. If the flaps are extended while the book is open, the GM will have easy access to useful information, like the regional map of the forest and item tables. The flaps can also be used as bookmarks when the book is closed.

 Cross-Collab Campaign header text

If you back both this campaign and the Hell in a Hog Waller campaign, you will receive an additional supplement — a collaboration between M. Allen Hall and Fey Light Studio.

Hell in a Hog Waller is a wartime mouse setting for Mausritter. This campaign setting features two mouse communities facing an invasion from a cabal of carnivores who instrumented The Night of Thundering Squeals. The field mice of Hedgerton and the city mice of Stonewall must come together against the Many Hungry Mouths and their attempted conquest of The Forgotten Field.

The bonus supplement will be an A5 leaflet detailing how to entangle these two campaign settings. By planting rumors, items, and NPCs from one campaign into the other, you can lead your players through an expansive campaign that adds the resistance fighters of Boroden to the pitched combat of The Forgotten Field, or brings war refugees from Hedgerton to the fight against the oppression of The Baron.

This leaflet will be packed and shipped with your copy of The Baron's Grip. If you back The Baron's Grip at the digital only level, you will receive the PDF of this supplement.

Shipping header

We will be fulfilling all US orders in house using Pirate Ship. We have used this service for each of our prior crowdfunding campaigns with great results.

For backers in the UK and EU, we will be working with a fulfillment company to help with GSPR compliance and VAT remittance to ensure your packages arrive with as few additional fees as possible.

Shipping will be collected after the campaign using a pledge manager. In order to maintain the timeline above and our precedent of prompt crowdfunding campaign fulfillment, we are not participating in the Mausritter Month group pledge manager.

To account for the fact that this project will be an additional shipping expense for backers, we are offering the following discounted shipping rates for Tier 2 (Physical Edition) and Tier 3 (Game Night Bundle) backers:

Shipping Rates. Tier 2 backers: USA $5, Canada $10, Rest of World $12. Tier 3 backers: USA $6, Canada $12, Rest of World $14.
