Project Update: What A Crazy Ride!

I want to thank everyone for their support during this campaign. It's been a crazy ride with more than one learning curve tossed. I learned a lot. And I'm still learning. I just found a couple of buttons I should have pushed after I sent out the packages. Some of you might get your tracking numbers after receiving your pins. This was my fourth time doing a crowdsourcing campaign and my first time using BackerKit. I advise others to purchase your label printer before you start fulfillment. Different printers interface differently with mailing services. And everyone has a mailing service, each with its pros and cons. Once I did get the printer figured out, things went very quickly.

I do have plans for another pin campaign and a campaign for a new bingo game. I think I will produce the Bingo Game first as the art for it is completed. I'll send an email out when I'm ready to give the sneak peek announcement.

I'm so happy you were able to make this campaign possible! I had a booth at the Proctor Art Festival earlier this month, and the pins were selling well. A man asked me if I did commission work. He wants me to paint a Creepy Clown for him. While I'm at it I think I will paint a couple of Killer Klowns from Outer Space at the same time. I have already prepped the canvases. Let me know if you'd like updates on that process, or follow me on Instagram.

Again, thank you all for your support!
Mark

Project Update: Last Batch Dropped Off At Post Office

I meant to post this video last night, but I got distracted by a phone call. In the video I say I’ll be dropping off the packages tomorrow but I did it this morning!
Here’s a video of the last box.

I’ll be doing at least one more update. But rejoice and do a happy dance with me as all the rewards should be shipped! WooHoo!

Project Update: Making Great Strides in Getting the Pins Shipped!

I spent yesterday and today printing shipping labels and putting pins into envelopes. I dropped the second batch at the post office this morning, and I hope to drop the third batch off tomorrow morning. I estimate that I have at least two-thirds of the mailing completed. As I understand the Backerkit mailing system works like this: I buy the shipping label with the bar code from them, I then print it and put it on the package. I drop the packages off at the post office. They in turn scan the bar code and it gets entered into the system. When the bar code is scanned the tracking number is confirmed and USPS gets reimbursed by BackerKit. Backerkit's system should then automatically inform the addressee of the tracking number.

My late cousin's memorial service is early tomorrow afternoon. So, I plan on returning to and completing fulfillment on Monday.

My health is great! With my heart back in rhythm the water I was retaining has drained out of my system. Going for three miles on the treadmill is not as taxing as before. I'm below my long-targeted weight of 195lbs and now have the challenge of staying there.

Thanks again for your patience.

Project Update: Canada's Labels Done

Well, it's about time. Today I was able to put labels on all the shipments heading to Canada. I'm a bit perplexed by a spot in the Backerkit interface when it comes to locking in the addresses. Perhaps it's a default, or there's a prerequisite button I need to hit. I think I need it locked to print the US labels. I went ahead and printed the Canadian ones because the shipping option for it was fixed. And like how Backerkit prints out an inventory label for my records to make fulfillment easier.

Progress was made!

As always thanks for your patience. I've started to receive some pins I ordered during Pintopia. Here's an unboxing video.

Project Update: Schedule Setback Due to Malfunctions

This week was not the best, but things could have been worse.

The first item was that my heart was in AFIB, which it has been doing every couple of years for the last fifteen years. Getting it out of AFIB requires a series of tests and then going to the clinic and being put under to be cardioverted (shocked) back into rhythm. I was told my head wouldn't be clear for the rest of the day.

The next item was computer problems. The computer kept running out of space, so the scratch disk function wouldn't work. Yet, the more files I removed the less space I got. I called my computer tech Charlie. Apparently, my TimeMachine malfunctioned some time ago. I turned it off but then had to run disk repair utilities. It was a slow, tedious, and nerve-wracking process. I then moved several ancient files to another drive until the computer was functional again. Then, I had to double-check to ensure the files I transferred were operational before I deleted the originals on the primary drive. Another day lost.

On the plus side, I'm healthy again, and so it my computer.

The money I sent for the mailing should be processed by now. Friday is a new day.
