Hi! I'm Mathilde Heu Studio, an illustrator specialising in games, treasure hunts and puzzle illustrations!

This Christmas I am releasing a series of four Xmas Puzzle Greeting Cards.

Each card contains a puzzle which solves to reveal a fun seasonal greeting! To solve each card you will need your smartphone, the free app Eyejack, and your greeting card :)

Please note that online images have been slightly edited to remove puzzle spoilers.

The Cards

Each card features festive artwork AND a puzzle with Augmented Reality. These puzzles are designed to be accessible and enjoyable, making them perfect for those who are new to puzzling.

Card Design 2 - The QR code for the AR will be added at the back, above the credits. It's currently hidden not to spoil the puzzle!

The Secret Augmented Reality Layer

For each of those puzzle cards, you'll need to activate a secret Augmented Reality layer in order to solve the puzzle. 

To do so, you'll need to scan the QR code at the back of the cards, and follow the instructions:

  1. Scan the QR code 
  2. Download the free Eyejack App
  3. Open the app, and hover over the Artwork
  4. Don't forget to turn your sound on!

The AR layer is packed with cheerful animation & original music!  
Each card contains a layer of augmented reality!

Production

The cards will be printed by Print.Work 

  • 350 gsm UNICORN white paper (high quality paper stock)
  • A6 when folded
  • Full-colour (CMYK)
  • Front: Artwork/Puzzle
  • Back: Puzzle instructions, credits & QR code to activate the Augmented Reality layer. 
  • Inside: Blank! So that you'll have plenty of space to write your message!
  • Brown envelopes included.

Collaboration

I am super psyched to announce that the puzzle mechanism for the fourth card has been designed by Matthew Stein, owner of Enigmida!

The background music and the sound puzzle for the augmented reality layers have been composed by Haniell!

Also a special thanks to Simon Edwards who suggested a mechanism for the Xmas Tree card, and playtested the other puzzles :)

Risks & Challenges

This is my first ever crowdfunding campaign. As a professional illustrator, I have an excellent track record of delivering projects on time. I know my suppliers well and have complete confidence in Print.Work who always amaze me with the quality of their prints. All the artworks are completed and ready to print! On the first day of shipping, I will post the hint system on my instagram account. If more help is needed, feel free to DM @mathildeheu_studio. 

Postal delays are unfortunately not in my control, but I will make sure that all the pledges are shipped by the end of the second week of November. This should allow plenty of time to receive your order and to send your wishes before Christmas.

Prices vary according to the weight of your order:

The Complete Set (4x postcards + 4x envolopes + shipping envelope) = ~87gr
Two Sets (8x postcards + 8x envolopes + shipping envelope) = ~147gr
Three Sets (12x postcards + 12x envolopes + shipping envelope) = ~207gr - 250gr

(for add-ons: add 15gr per greeting card and its envelope)
