Hello! My name is Alexandra, and I’m the artist, creator, and owner behind Mochi Blushi! Ever since I could hold a pencil I have loved to draw. As I started college I decided to combine my love for drawing and my love for cute things. I struggled in college with feeling like I didn't fit in amongst my peers who drew more realistically. It wasn't until my last 1-2 years of college that I decided to fully embrace my cuter style, which allowed me to create Mochi. He was a mixture of my love for mochi ice cream, plants, and tiny / squishy things. I decided I wanted his natural face to be the chub face because you really don’t know what he's thinking / feeling, which I struggle with sometimes.
As an artist and small business owner, this plush is the first time I have manufactured ANYTHING. I mostly create stationery products like stickers, bookmarks, and prints myself at home, so this was very out of the box. I had been wanting to create a plush for about 6 months and then, I finally did it. During the 3 months it took to bring him to life I was constantly nervous about him not looking right, especially since I actually designed the plush myself, sewing tiny versions of him to try and figure out what he would look like in real life... lets just say they definitely look handmade haha.. ANYWAYS, this project truly means a lot to me, I put all of my heart into creating this plush and my dream is that others will enjoy him just as much!
Who is Mochi?
Mochi is my original character + mascot for my small business Mochi Blushi! I create silly relatable doodles of him to try and bring some humor in the stressful days of life.
Mochi is a little guy made of mochi dough (like the kind used for mochi ice cream)! He’s squishy, has two little feet, and a sprout! He can be a bit slow, a little silly, and emotionally up and down, but he always tries his best (even if that means being a couch potato).
Plush keychain is about 4.5 inches small big, making him easy to carry around on your adventures! He is made of soft, flexible, elastic fabric for everyday squishing, along with pink blush that I personally apply to him using chalk pastels
His rotund shape is perfect to put your own custom necklace / charms to decorate him!
Keychain attachment is a green lobster clasp with a circle carabiner clip, making it easy to remove for cuddles!
