Moonbeam is shutting down; we’re looking at what’s next.
Dear Backers,
We received communication from Moonbeam this weekend letting us know they are shutting down the platform and with it, MCG’s The Anywhere Door. This was the first indication they’d given us that the platform was closing, so it’s as much a surprise to us as it is to you. The closure is effective as of this Friday, November 14th.

This was the first indication they’d given us that the platform was closing, so it’s as much a surprise to us as it is to you. The closure is effective as of this Friday, November 14th.
As a backer of this campaign we wanted to reach out and pass the news on to you. We’ve already delivered almost all of the physical and digital backer rewards, and more importantly your support funded the Cypher Streamer Creator Fund and ten really great streams, which has substantially boosted the community of streamers supporting MCG’s games. So despite the closure of Moonbeam, we consider the crowdfunding campaign for The Anywhere Door a solid success!
We were just about to launch Game Night with MCG, but this will require some changes to how we go about that. We’re working on it now, and on how we’ll continue to support the great streaming community that grew up around The Anywhere Door. We’ll have more news on all of that as we talk with streamers and figure out where we take things from here.
Accessible, safe community
There are always risks with any project, but we were excited by Moonbeam’s vision for a safe, easy-access space for our community to stream, talk, create, and thrive together. (That’s why we worked closely from the start with the Cypher Unlimited Discord team, who have provided this on Discord for years!)
Amazing content
We also wanted to say how very impressed and thankful we are for the terrific content produced for, streamed to, and curated on The Anywhere Door. We would really love for this not to be lost. Creative Fund applications
Cypher Streamer Creative Fund applications will be opening at the end of this month. We’ll put out more info on that along with the online application form soon. The Anywhere Door opens
We’re looking at September for early access to The Anywhere Door for backers. We’ll be working with Moonbeam to make this a terrific and creative space that everyone can enjoy.

We’ve funded! Shall we announce our first stretch goal?
Wow, everyone! Thank you so much for supporting this project and helping to bring The Anywhere Door to life! With the Moonbeam crowdfunding campaign funded, we can’t wait to see all of the amazing communities and realms that will be constructed in the future.
We thought this might be a great time to announce our first stretch goal!
Through this campaign, we’re funding two pools of grant money for streamers: the Cypher Stream Creator Fund, and the established streamer grants. The Cypher Stream Creator Fund will distribute $2,500, in $500 packages, directly to small or new streamers, to help them launch their dream Cypher stream! The established streamer grants will do something similar, supporting existing names in the MCG community as they bring exciting new shows to The Anywhere Door, with an additional $2500 grant pool for creators like Cypher Unlimited, Qedhup, DM Tales, Mr. Tarrasque, and other established streamers.
Our first stretch goal? MCG will match the money raised for these funds! That’s right—at $19,000 MCG will match the funds raised and add $2,500 for each of these funds. That means we’ll be able to support TEN new Cypher streamers with the Cypher Stream Creator Fund. And the pool for established streamers increases to $5000.
But that’s not all! Not only will MCG match the original funding levels for these pools—we will also extend that match to every stretch goal in the future. For example, if the next stretch goal increases the established streamer grants by $3,000, MCG will match it! Every dollar raised by this campaign for support of streamers will be doubled by MCG.
We are truly dedicated to creating lasting resources for creators in our spaces, including funding the launch and continuation of as many creative, entertaining, and fun streams as possible. Help us bring this vision to life! Let’s get to that stretch goal, and continue to build a community we’re excited to be a part of!
Psst... we'll open the application process for the Cypher Stream Creator Fund shortly after this campaign concludes. The application window will run through the end of October. If you're interested in a grant, start thinking about your pitch now, and you'll be ready to apply in August!

I followed the link to gain access to the website but it keeps telling me that it can't create a user with the provided information. My password seems to meet the requirements, my email address should be valid. If someone has already used my username it would be the first time in like 30 years that my username was taken so I'm doubtful that's the case.
