Funded in 48 hours !!?!!!
Hello to you all!
First I want to say thank you all so much for helping me get this project to its funding goal. This is my first time running my own crowdfunding campaign a...
I just wanted to give you all a heads up that yes the reward surveys will be ready this weekend for you all to give me your shipping information (and for me to gather shipping costs) so I can begin the packaging and mailing process.
The Pledge Manager team finished their review of my reward survey setup and I'm currently running a "smoke test" of said surveys with just a few randomly selected backers, so if you're one of the people who has received your reward survey early congrats on winning the lottery and please fill your survey out so I can finish the final check.
Good news! I have the pins! I also have the packaging. I just need to get the printing labels. I'm really happy with how these pins came out. I've developed an appreciation for soft enamel, since it demands you consider the line art translated to metal as a texture for the overall pin design.
The reward surveys are on the way, I had finished filling out all the required information over the weekend, but now have to wait for a review from the Pledge Manager team, which will take another business day or two.
Also a reminder that once I send out the reward surveys I will also be asking for payment of the shipping cost on these rewards, so be ready for that added charge to your cards. I can't ship rewards out if I have no money to do that with, haha. The breakdown (in CAD) is $10 for orders from Canada, $15 for the US, and $25 International, just as a heads up. This is based off of weight and size calculations I got off of Canada Post, who I will be shipping through. Bruh, shipping is expensive...
While we wait for the surveys here's a photo of the pins in person. I can't wait to pin these to my own jacket and bag. I looooove them. They feel so good to hold!
I have some updates. The first and most important is that I have ordered the pins. The manufacturer I'm working with has confirmed that the completed pins should reach me by mid-April.
In the meantime I have set up a PO Box as my return address (my first time doing this! How fun!), and next week I will be ordering the packaging from a local supplier that uses environmentally friendly materials.
I will send out the reward surveys in April, since I'm taking it slow calculating shipping and making sure I understand how gathering addresses on Backerkit works. Thanks for your patience on that.
I've attached the digital proofs the manufacturer sent me. The star tiger almost glows with its new colour. I'm excited to have these in my hands!
Backerkit has sent me the funds and I have begun the pin ordering process. Like I mentioned before, I wanted to do some slight adjustments to the pin designs so that they would look nicer as a final product. Nothing too wild, just a nudge here or there, cleaner lines, and at least one colour adjustment.
I made the lineart a bit thicker on all of them and I chose a different pantone for the Star Thief, since I like how this lighter orange has more of a glow to it. We'll see if I still like it once I receive a photo proof of the pin. I'll share any photos I get with all of you, of course.
I've attached images of the touched up pin designs so you all can see what you're getting.
Thanks again for all your support through this first campaign of mine. I'll talk to you all again in March!
